You kinda gave it away anyway...
And whatever, Thilan's 53 going on 54 (born in Lirisa). Pathetically enough he just made 30th circle.
Now that Zovyn's back I'd love to see his age...I'll ask him if I run into him again. He was the top Ranger back in the AOL days.

Ealuik is in his mid to late 80s.
Kssarh and Mortom are probably pushing 100.
Tiv is probably over 100.
This is the problem with the time dilation when adjustments aren't being made in the lifespans of species to make it make sense.

I saw sort of an explanation once
gm post : http://www.elanthipedia.com/wiki/Post:Death_and_the_Soul_-_5/11/2009_-_1:39:41
More about afterlife than long life- but I'm sure it can apply without going full "auroa"(sp? in game reference)
A rarer system that sees sporadic practice has no formal name, but often goes by the regional dialect of "the Invisible Flame" or "Path of Invisible Strength." Most often practiced by Paladins, though it has adherents in many professions, the path proposes that a man of sufficient spiritual purity and strength can develop a self-empowering soul: one that can exist outside the body, with its identity intact, indefinitely. Where the common soul is weak and transitory unless fixed in its state by the gods, the soul of the great and wise men may endure forever
....
Priests of all stripes denounce the pursuit of vain spiritualism over service and homage to the gods, but for every prayer there is a dozen ghost stories. It is commonly known that particularly driven or powerful individuals sometimes... hang around longer than even the wildest amounts of conventional spirit health should allow.

Prominent Human(ish) NPCs never dying of old age is really just something that is handwaved.
It would have never had to of been handwaved if the designers of the racial charts had taken the time dilation into consideration when coming up with racial lifespans and just made the shorter-lived races canonically live to 200 or so, but c'est la vie.

But then if the game lasted another roughly 15 years you'd still have the same problem. I think the easiest assumption here is that these guild leaders would have been and stayed in tip top shape possibly. You look at some old people in real life and those who stayed active and took care of themselves usually get around a LOT better and live longer than those who lay down to die. Add some fantasy in and the fact that we have gods that can bring you back to life and I don't see where them living for an extremely extended period of time past what the racial charts claim the normal would lives is unbelievable. After all, if the gods can bring you back to life several times by seeking their favor, who's to say they can't stop you from ever dying of old age?

Well, the thing about that is, they don't. Favors only prevent you from "going before your time," they don't extend it.
It might make sense to start "retiring" some NPCs that are pushing past the natural lifespan for their race, but it's not unheard of for people to live past 100 when our current life expectancy is only about 80 in the longest living countries, if you'll forgive the real life comparison.

Maybe it's a by-product. Periodically trading in that old cholesterol ridden body for a brand new healthy one may extend life significantly for all I know.
You suddenly feel nauseous, as if you'd been doing performance art.

They made shifting borderline illegal and extremely frowned upon by the empath guildleaders. This was a gigantic mistake, in my opinion, as it is sometimes hard to find a shifter, and that "an empath did it" would have settled the matter of absolutely ancient human NPCs without much trouble.

When Elriic logged in a few months ago, he had a year or two on me, so I'd think him maybe(not sure if he was age shifted any or not), unless you can find anyone 75 or older.
Maybe with all the trailblazers and other old people showing their heads lately, there might be one out there.

Prior to web move I can't recall ever rolling anything higher than 19 out of chargen as a human. I think 21 was the max but I never saw it. Which means I suppose you could be 78 as a human.
But it's been 14 years and 2 months since DR opened on AOL, which is 56 game years. Well, 56 and a half.

Hrm, it's possible my human created at 21 and I've been playing a year longer than I thought. Numbers get fuzzy with me... definitely started over 20, remember that much because she was the same age as my Halfling (who started at 18 or something).

>>>>It really shouldn't be possible to be older than 76 (18 + (14*4)).
>>>Technically, one real year is 3.65 Elanthian years, not 4. (One Elanthian year is 100 real days.)
>>>My human rolled out at 32 several years ago. It is a sore point for me, but I've managed to work with it.
I could be wrong and I am no mathematician but...You can be younger or older than 18 and I think more accurately the age max would look something like ( 16-? + (15*3.6) )This figures the AOL 1996 roots of the game to present time, but I am not certain if that is accurate either. So basically the age range for humans goes from 16 to around 160ish. This assumes that the youngest you can be rolling out is 16 and oldest 99.
Would be neat to find out who are the oldest and youngest humans in prime.
