I mentioned this in the meetings, but for the people who didn't read through the entire logs I figure I'll isolate it:

If there was one single thing you could have for Kaldar, be it more lore, an area, an item, a magical flying pony (Okay, not that) go ahead and toss it out there. Alternately you can take this as "What one question about Kaldar would you like answered?"

I would like to be able to get favors from the Kaldar/Gnomish gods. And hopefully more lore about those gods as well.

here's a few things from someone that was around during the gorbesh war.

The gorbesh dieties and the gorbesh military structure are very much against the 13. Having destroyed the first crossing temple, and did their best to defile every altar of the aspects as they could. <mobar blood was first used after the gorbesh went home to "undefile" the altar in leth deriel, which for a long time people had to go to to get favors before the 2nd temple was built in crossing.

If you ask Priestess Tallis up in the temple about the gorbesh, she'll give you an interesting statement as well.

So, I don't see them as getting on buddy-buddy any time soon, as long as Tallis and her generation are still in control.

That said though, it might be possible in 500 years or something <or more, depending on dwarven or elven lifespans> for those dieties to be "absorbed" into the general pantheon, given the tendencies of polytheistic societies to "absorb" other peoples cultures and gods over time <see the greek city states and the gradual absorbtion of Athena, Zeus, the spartan dieties and the rest into the general greek culture>

The question I would really like to know is how the gorbesh deities view necromancy. For purely selfish reasons. :-)

THAT is a question I know the answer too off the cuff.

Whatever the Alberian Gods may or may not be, they hate Necromancy.

Good memory! The Gorbesh did indeed defile the altars. However, I've always seen this as military strategy on their part - note, though they held strongholds throughout the (then) known provinces, only The Crossing temple was attacked. The Crossing is, arguably, the religious heart of Kermoria and had the strongest military force to be conquered. The attack of The Crossing temple was twofold - demoralize its people (and the weak will submit) and cut off their access to the high altar (the strong cannot gain access to their gods and return to fight again). So the catapults were aimed at the temple - not the guild towers, the bank, or even the motte. The location of the temple, so close to the city walls and well within range of those massive rocks (and bodies, don't forget those who 'flew') made it an easy work.

Thanks for that, it's something I've been wanting to know for a long time now.

I agree. The Gorbesh War still stands as the only one so far that has really felt like a war to me.

>>What one question about Kaldar would you like answered?

Are all Kaldar considered separate and apart from the Alaudian Empire, or are there still at least some group(s) of "loyalist" Kaldar?
