Reading some of these posts makes me very worried. D:
After Ex's dear dear raccoon went senile on her. (totally Zurato's fault somehow I think) she has a wolf now and Ex is sitting around on her paws basically waiting for this thing to grow up big enough to be useful. And then I read all this about how easily they can be lost.
Is there anyway to get a quick solution to this? IE: Make wolves carry-able like raccoons even once they've reached young/full-grown. Granted it might not make much sense to some, but since there's not exactly a size modifier (You see a baby wolf. You see a full-grown wolf) these could be... you know... really small wolfs. 6.6;
At least until some of the bigger issues get looked at. Would that even be possible with a relatively small amount of trouble?

Unfortunately not. The code for the companions is such that I am afraid to mess with it much - if at all - for fear of totally breaking companions beyond repair.
I am "actively begging" folks to help me work on the companion system, but for now, consider them pretty snarly and flea-ridden (buggy) and be very careful how you handle your companions.
If a serious bug grabs you, and one that was absolutely unavoidable on your part, I will replace your companion if it is lost. Just take special note of the "absolutely unavoidable on your part" part, please :-)
Thanks, and sorry I do not have a nicer answer for you.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Just steal the Familiar code, and change around talismans to totems or figurines. Then let us have that until Companions can be redone :)

This is one of the great things about also being the hiring lead - I am working on that part as well :-)
We'll get it done, soon-ish if I can help it!
