While we're not doing it anyway, Paladins would certainly not be getting survival :P

>I feel that while Lore isn't the best skill-set a Paladin would be somewhat scholarly, would know things of academia more then of the Wilderness.
Being tert doesn't mean there can't be a guild emphasis there. It just means that it the area that gets the least attention in the guild.
Given the frequency of use of magic by rangers and paladins it is hard to argue this is the area of least emphasis.

Since the magic skillset is being reworked and everyone will soon rely on it for their primary guild abilities this line of reasoning would lead to no one being magic tert... in fact given the frequency that Barbarians and Thieves use dances/zerks and khri we'd both be 'magic' primary.

I agree with having all spells or more be refreshable before they expire, having more be group cast at higher skill levels would also be , I think, a desirable change for most.
More buffs/protection type spells would seem to be reasonable, true we are armor secondary, not likely to change now even if myself and others prove ranks wise this is not invalid. (sop and sott are fine, but we could use more.)
Wearing leather frankly, as most Rangers mainly do I am stunned, put off-balance, take more damage. So , stun decrease or prevention, shield improvement, leather or other armor strengthening, maybe a spell to help us be stealthy with injuries? We could share this with Empaths. Something akin to a blood staunching or stamina improvement ability to soak damage spell, some form of barrier magical or physical.
Debuffing spells which function well in different situations, we have four currently one is wilderness only, one is an agility contest , another is stamina the fourth I never use (swarm) An undead debuff would be nice, cotw is pretty nice. WvsW type spell maybe.
Some form of enclosed shelter and or temporary santuary spell.
Spells related to perception, or tracking, finding items.
Weapon enhancing/or damaging inflicting spells which apply not just to an edged or a bow,
damaging mulitple critters or times, damaging undead specifically. (I really like dev, ec, stw)
(most useful current spells imo, sop, sott, stw, em, wotp, ec, hb, cotw, dev,)
(least useful current Ranger spells imo, boon, swarm, af, ws, cotc,)
hol, spc and cais have their uses. No real opinion on Grizz, bes and cs might be good for some things, I usually like to cast unless I am backtraining and just using it as a boost to hit things or crafting so, they have their place. bb is okay , wish it worked in town and wasn't so hard to snap cast at over low prep, that might be my issue with not having higher mentals or magics though. NC and blend I would use if they were the same spell.
-Morganae -- who
has been called the "true ruler" of the Elven people,
-Termed the "Leth Deriel that Never Was",
it was built with much of the same architecture and streets named after the jewels
that Morganae's people sang to shape the foundations.
