Folks, beseech the wind to preserve is a useful beseech, it preserves flowers and more importantly, meat for exactly 1 hour. Allowing us rangers who hunt where there isn't much wolf food, the luxury of hunting further afield. Just because it doesn't do what you want it to, or because you don't want to muss with a companion, doesn't mean it's useless. I use it all the time when I have a young or older wolf, which admittedly isn't often. There are more useless beseeches like beseech to harden leather armor.

Now to keep it on topic, now Falker, quit over exagerating you pompous idiot!

What's the exact timer on feeding a young/full-grown wolf? I thought it was 32 minutes, but don't know for sure. Anyone got a time on it?

Actually timer on feeding companions is 1 hour. Actual time meat is preserved is 1 hour. It's how I judge when I've played DR too long. 2 feedings is my self-imposed limit--which I hardly observe but that's besides the point.

But I'm not upset about Falk. I can feel superior than him then (if it's true he "slept" through his ranks) cuz I don't script and "earned" all my ranks. I do use hot keys. Is that cheating? : D

Can you tell me what I've been pessimistic about? Seems you want to use words you dont understand. I'm probably arrogant, that I dont deny. There is a fine line between arrogance and self confidence, and I walk it all the time. You didnt get what I was saying, because if you did, you wouldnt have responded the way you did, so I see you STILL dont get it. Not surprising.

And bitter? About what? There is nothing to be bitter about. Again, using what ever word you think suits you. Grumpy, would be a better word. I dislike stupid people, and I'm surrounded by them. So it makes me grumpy, not bitter.

<<I must be a cheater too, I use awesomely well written scripts.>>

Ok strictly my opinion and bias here. If you use scripts to do boring things for short periods of time, like to take a break and go to the bathroom, let the dog out, grab a snack and drink and come back--I don't think of that as cheating.

If you use a script to do a boring thing for long periods of time, that's "cheating" as it allows you to basically do real world things, study, write papers, clean the house, do the laundry stuff. And to my mind, why "play" a game if you aren't actively engaged with it? The first 2 things I mentioned can be done at the keyboard so you can respond to your triggers and the GMs say that's fine--but to me it is still "cheating" as your focus is not on the game. The last 2 clearly are AFK but I bet folks do that and again, I feel it is "cheating".

In other words, I feel if you aren't actively engaged in the game (reading the text, responding to it, talking, and doing things in game--playing)it's "cheating". Look at it like this, you have Sony PS system and are playing a game...you are punching buttons, moving and actively watching and responding to the game screen. DR is no different except that because it is text, it makes it easy to make scripts. If you could make scripts for PS games, would you? What's the point of sitting on your couch watching "you" in game doing stuff and raising your score? The fun is in the doing.

And Falk, you do use scripts and for all I know, you park Falker in The Fallen and script to your hearts content and then comeback to Prime when you want to.

Scripting while doing these things IS cheating since you're non responsive to the gaming environment while doing it. You might be able to get away with it without getting a warning but it is against the rules.

I did the 1-100 largely without scripts. Now it only seems dumb not to use them. So yes, I do use scripts now, and use them almost full time. However, I am actively responsive to those scripts, unlike most people. If I go make food, or laundry, or what have you, I pause that script, and sometimes just log out.

If I'm not able to watch (or dont feel like watching) the game, I'm not in game. Much like right now, I could totally be in game scripting away, but I dont feel like watching it at the moment. So, if you guys would like to paint the picture that all 150th level characters must AFK scripting zombies, go for it. Just know that you are wrong, and look stupid for assuming so.

Funny how this went from me calling someone a nancy for skirting a quest req to: OMG scripting cheaters everywhere! ROFL.

>>If you could make scripts for PS games, would you? What's the point of sitting on your couch watching "you" in game doing stuff and raising your score? The fun is in the doing.

You simply can't compare DR to a lot of other games this easily. Many other games require a vast amount of reaction, whereas in DR a character will defend on his/her own without the player needing to force his/her movements. The entire frame of combat in DR is automated and repetitious. You cannot tell me that the majority of PS games are even remotely similar.

If someone likes to see their character get stronger they are within their rights to script (not AFK). Why do people script? Because actions are heavily repetitious.

I repeated myself simply because you can't act like it doesn't make sense for people to script a lot in DR. It makes a lot of sense and is very understandable so don't try to make it seem like people are strange for doing it by comparing it to something that isn't similar at all.

Hmmm . . . I'd say the most ironic thing is that the player who paid to have his character scripted for quite a while considers "cheating" to be using a game-legal cj.

Well, this cant be directed at me (If it is, you win the cake for biggest liar/worst information, if you think I'd EVER pay someone to script my character for me). Because it cant be directed at me, I'm also not sure who you are talking to, but this thread is about me. (Note the title.) So if you are talking about someone else, you should be more specific.

Also, you guys really are missing the point. It's not surprising, given the state of IQs in DR as of late. Apparently everyone thinks you should be able to pass a quest's hard rank reqs with CJs. I disagree - so we can agree to disagree. Most of the content of this game is achieved at < 200 ranks. If you are going to use a CJ to skip half/most of those ranks to 'earn' those achievements, then I reserve the right to make fun of you, if I choose. Note, I probably wont care enough to take the time to do so, unless you actually try to brag about your accomplishment. Now back to your regularly scheduled QQ-ing.

I agree partly with the Falker about not using cj's in quests. BUT I see no problem if, after spending days training what stats/skills I think are needed, and still not getting through---AND having had some of the beseeches thrown off by the change in bonus coding, THEN using a cj could be used.

Those were the things that Leithlen encountered in his quest for the stupid frozen rose (one of the annoying quests, I think).

Now, if someone runs through the quest once or twice, decides to use a cj...well I wouldn't but that's me.

I have only been tempted to use a cj once...it was during that beseech the water to solidify quest. I really began to hate algae. Damn slippery algae! It took me a month of getting up there and trying again and again. But I didn't use a cj and finally got the algae to cooperate.

Anyway, I'm glad I got all of them now. Phew! Mark one more thing done.

The guy is a complete muppet. It was / is a well known fact that falk used to have split personalities due to not having just one person playing him. You would think in the 10+ years of playing this game, he would have matured enough to admit the truth instead of trying to make out he has never once afk scripted or had anyone else play his character.

But of course, the most important thing in this topic is that using an IG, stat enhancing CJ, is completely cheating and wrong! Paying someone to have your skills worked on the other hand... thats perfectly fine!

Interesting how people who have never posted before in these folders are suddenly posting off the wall information as if they know something. I knew Dulcinia and we were friends, but I highly doubt she would say that about me, or would even care, if it was true (meaning why would she complain). Not really sure what your angle is, but I suggest we get some FIRST hand knowledge, not this hearsay crap. Only problem is, you wont find any, because there is none. The funny thing is, I think you probably have me confused with Sammee.

<<The guy is a complete muppet. It was / is a well known fact that falk used to have split personalities due to not having just one person playing him. I've never afk scripted. Period. The maturity is knowing what you are talking about, and stop trying to make up things that you have no first hand knowledge or proof of. I find it funny that it's a 'well known fact'.

Now I will educate you on the truth. Someone else besides me has played Falk, because I sold Falk to a friend about 5 years ago. After about 4-6 months, he wasnt being played, and I decided I wanted him back, so I got him back. Falk was out of my ownership for about a total of 6 months. He was hardly played for half of that time. I didnt pay anyone to train him, you could actually say I was paid for someone to play him for 3-ish months. So you should probably stop trying to spread bad information, and basically lies.

Your fail attempt to try to make a point about cheating has done nothing more that make you look like an idiot trying to feel important by thinking you knew something, when in fact you didnt know anything. Congrats? You guys get off on trying to start false rumors to cause internet drama? Lol? Nice effort.

Also, I believe those older Beseeches were made well before CJ's came around. So they may have not been updated to reflect the skill boost from the CJ's.

I STILL can't get on Tomma's or Tolle's register. : (
