ok so i have no Idea where to go to suggest a new ability or anything... but i was thinking about a possible Ranger ability having to do with holding an arrow and stabing an opponants throat with it. i guess (I hate to say this cuz I am very ANTI Legolas but...) it's a legolas like skill... I think it'd be pretty kick arse to be able to do that... have it be something like a theif ability to stunn... only Rangers do it with an arrow.

A possible new brawling strike? One of the first of many complex maneuvers that can be learned based on our agility and prowess in combat. With an arrow in hand, make a strike towards the opponent's face (head/eyes/neck), and then when the opponent is stunned and off balance quickly retreat back to missle, ready to remove your bow and fire the arrow into the helpless opponent in mere seconds.

Not to blatantly steal things from GS4, but i believe there you can always use an arrow as a LE weapon.

I would prefer it as a brawling-based maneuver, though i'm imagining more of retrieving the arrow from a corpse, then a quick stab/load/fire

um you can already retrieve arrows as a brawling techniquie.

But I was thinking of it as more of an ability then brawling usage

All abilities are skill-based; i'd prefer it to be based on brawling than LE.

I love the idea of the ability, but i'm just saying i don't picture it as something you PLAN on doing. No one has a bow in hand, but instead of using it chooses to get to melee, stab the target with an arrow, go 'gotcha!' giggle, retreat and fire. I picture it more of an 'oh crap i'm caught at melee with my bow', grab the nearest available arrow (maybe from a nearby corpse), stab, load the arrow you just stabbed them with, fire.

Sorry my first post wasn't very clear.

hrm... interesting concept... be neat if you could base that off of bow skill... but they'd get pretty pissy about that wouldn't they?

I don't suppose Z could weigh in on this topic?

I was more thinking of an ability that we can use when we're dancing with three malchata and a fourth comes in. Normally you just sheath your weapon, drop back, pull out the bow, and snipe the third. Why not sheath the scimitar and pull out the arrow at melee, and do this maneuver to stun/disorient/injure/blind the creature while backing up to get ready to shoot. One 3-5 second roundtime to pull off the attack and get back to missle range.

I kind of agree with HARES. I don't really see this as something someone chooses to do. If you have the choice to pull something out when you drop back, you're more likely to grab an actual weapon to hit them with. Stabbing an opponent with an arrow is more of a desperation move, in my opinion. Something you'd do if you suddenly found yourself caught at melee, holding the bow you were just about to load, and just stabbing them with the arrow instead.

If anything, it would be at least an interesting technique to add in as an brawling/offhand ability for people who may want to at least have the ability. I don't know how much damage I would expect to see out of it. A stun might be fine.

I'm thinking of one problem with this... it's hard to get a single arrow out unless you load it or break one... maybe as part of the skill you can do it as long as yo uhave arrows in your quiver? give it the same rt as loading?

I was thinking it might be cool to do with a single arrow (picked up off the ground) or a loaded bow (the move automatically unloads) with a RT of 2 or so. But i'm not sure how useful the unloading feature would be, since at that point it would probably be better to just fire.
