I would like to officially beg the GM's to give us this beseech back. Some people had it in their minds that because beseech the sun to dry is convenient and doesn't require a tool, that it justifies that the herb should be destroyed in the process. I would ask those people to consider that there is another perspective, which is that the same magic that would allow the ranger to call upon the sun to dry their herb would also allow them to do so without destroying it. If you can imagine a world where that is possible, you might then consider the fact that rendering this beseech obsolete was unnecessarily cruel. The beseech was not overpowered, and the only thing that it did was enable rangers a single tangible advantage in an alchemy system that has already placed every advantage on the lore primary guilds.

R>time
It has been 409 years, 312 days since the Victory of Lanival the Redeemer.
It is the 8th month of Skullcleaver the Dwarven Axe in the year of the Amber Phoenix.
It is currently fall and it is early morning.
You're positive it's 8 roisaen after the Anlas of Hodierna's Blessing.
You glance outside.
The autumn sky above is a bright, cheery blue.
The following heavenly bodies are visible:
The early morning sun is unobscured by clouds.
The planet Verena is unobscured by clouds.
The planet Estrilda is unobscured by clouds.
The planet Durgaulda is unobscured by clouds.
The planet Penhetia is unobscured by clouds.
Katamba is below the horizon.
Xibar is unobscured by clouds.
Yavash is unobscured by clouds.
Roundtime: 6 sec.
The only worrisome thing I noticed is that my herb dropped from 99 quality to 58. Does time of day really have that much impact on the ending quality or is there a seasonal variation in there as well.

Double post:
It seems like time of day is a large factor since the repeating the test at mid-morning resulted in a quality of 67. I guess you need to dry your herbs at noon to get the "best" quality out of them. I wonder if time of day affects pyramids the same way?

I don't know if time of day matters, but it's treated as only a moderate quality pyramid, for drying purposes. If you're not very skilled, it could be messing you up.
And there is a random factor in most of these, but it rarely is seen.

This beseech always had about 720.4 variables affecting its potency. I didn't touch those, simple redirected them to apply to the new herbs. I'm thinking people weren't really caring much about the quality of old herb drying because it didn't factor into the healing amount very much...
