Hey Krin,

I was just messing around with the skill sorter, ya know pasting in the skills from some of my characters. I like it a lot, but I notice that it doesn't work with Empathy. Care to tweak?

Ayep, gotta add Empathy to the list of skills it recognizes. Thanks for the heads up. I'll try to remember to include that when I load an update "soon" to correct a minor error I found on the archery page (found it while following my own instructions on carving a short bow <blush>).

Only if I add them to the skill sorter. Since they are career-related, they wouldn't be in teh Guild req's and therefore the req calc won't need to worry about them.

As for the skill sorter, that's easy. I have 5 string array variables, one for each skillset. Actually, I will be rewriting that JScript with a newer more efficient method I came up with but the result will be similar in how it extracts skills. All I have to do is add the skill to the right list and all the rest of the mechanics function normally.

So, not a problem ... other than getting off my butt and making the update itself. Which I will try to be more prompt with in the future. Expect some updates to the site in the coming weeks, updating a few of the existing pages (correcting minor errors I've found or making things like the skill chart easier to read) and getting a couple of the "coming soon" pages finally posted.

I might even get it to the point where I feel comfortable with submitting it to the play.net links page. We'll see.

Just because some are less worried about the quality of their work and more worried about being visible doesn't mean I have to be the same way. ;-)

When I feel comfortable it's worthy of being noticed, I'll put it up. I just don't feel comfortable submitting the site for a link until it's closer to being what I feel is a "complete" site. Doesn't mean it will be finished, but at least all the main areas should be open.

Few more tweaks and updates and it should be ready. Speaking of which, I just uploaded a couple. Fixed the Empathy problem with the skill sorter and corrected an error on the archery page ... those following the instructions there for crafting longbows and wondering why they didn't work, well ... my bad, I left out a step, heh. Changed Empathy in the req calc routine as well ... it doesn't aply to Rangers but the plan is to eventually have calcs for all Guilds built and posted (so it is needed for the Empath calc to work, they will all use the same main routine, they just each have custom routines for taking care of unique Guild needs), including an option to use the calc or a chart. There will be two dropdown menus added to both pages, one for selecting Guild, the other for selecting calc/chart.
