What creatures are good to hunt after bristle pecs? I am now dancing with 3 and getting bored to death. Is there a good critter in P5 for rangers at this level to hunt?

Thannks,

Basilisk are great will teach to 480 - they gen 2 per person, you can train stalking by engaing from hiding; fangs can go for a gold and they drop great loot

Celps are good also, but the area is small and they really don't move room to

I asked the same question a little while ago, and the responses were primarly celpeze, so thats where I went. There are more 1 hit kills, but otherwise its been a good choice. Just make sure you know where an empath is because even a grazing hit from the tail will give nerve poison.

Basilisk are way better than celps; easier to control the swarms, mana is better, more than 3 rooms for hunting, they drop a ton of loot i was make 20 plat a day outta there, plus the fangs can go for a gold each.

Yeah but no stalking in water, and it's hell to get there.

Basilisks rule. However, they are directly responsible for the 150 rank gap between my hiding and my stalking. \;)

Hide and advance works better then stalking anyways. I have not hunted celps yet (cant catch a ride back to islands), but I love basilisks.

I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and head to basilisks soon...bristles teach way less than I remember. Maybe cause I've pumped my intel/wisdom/disc 30 points overall since last I hunted anywhere.

Still, they teach my hide/stalk/bow fine and I really dread having to try and learn stalking by advancing. The last time I tried that it was just a pathetic amount of stalking.

Maybe I'll work it into my bristles script and see how it works in here first.

Ya, 115 for me. And the advancing didnt work for me in basilisks. They didnt teach stalking at all.

That alone kept me away from them. And they don't teach me evasion now so it's not worth the trouble.

Yup I didn't learn a singe bit of stalking experience while I hunted basilisks. They did teach me pretty much everything else though, and made me a bunch of money in the process, so I consider it time well spent.

Now the real question is how high will these apes teach me evasion and what's coming down the pipeline in terms of higher critters in P5. :)

Don't know how high they teach, but have you thought of Marbled Gargs up at the mountain top temple in the new province? I know you can stalk them. Ryebran was telling they were teaching her evasion at 400 lessons. I hit bristle backs pretty well with my main melle weapon. But, these I have trouble hitting with it. This is with 265 in HE. These are a bit harder to hit, but not an instant death situation.

They give skins and drop lots of gems and a fair amount of boxes. Only thing is you cant cast on them, only Holy magic works on them. Swarm or hb's dont work on them. However spells you cast on yourself do.

Just a thought.

I wouldn't put marble gargs above bristle peccaries at all.

possibly roughly equivalent. I survived my test of both and ended up sniping for kills although getting a melee kill was much easier in bristle due probably to the lack of magic impacts on me and probably armor factors as well.

I'ld expect whatever is above bristle to kill me quick. Gargs didn't do it.
