I am about to reach circle 21 and get a spell. I got Compost, STW, HOL and SOP. What should be my next spell. I am thinking of getting SOTT.

Senses of the Tiger is the best spell we have, in my opinion. However, you'll need just over 300 ranks of Primary Magic before you can cast it at its maximum effect. Definitely a fun spell to grow into though, seeing all the various messaging.

Get SotT. Then get EM.

Good sound advice there.

Given the changes to reflexes, and the fact that it is a higher tier spell, I think EM would be MUCH more useful for a 21st circle ranger. EM first, then Sott.

I've never played with EM, what is it about the spell that people like so much? What effective uses have people found for using the spell in combat? Still havent hit circle 20 yet, but like to plan ahead.

Earth Meld? It is a (capped?) hiding boost that can be very useful once you can cast at the max mana for the spell (63) and even before then. Put up EM and get a Shadows rune with a full bonus in the wilderness at night time and DARE your friends to find you!

I put off getting EM for a long time. Mostly because I only used ranged (and therefore hiding) way below level, in my 3rd weapon group. Now that I have it, I don't know why I waited so long. Those that know me know I train a lot of metal armors at level, with this spell I can hide at melee with critters that are at my primary hunting level. I'm with Xelten in thinking it's ~90 rank hiding boost. It's a great magic trainer too. The bonus decays but you can refresh the spell. For a ranged primary, this spell is indispensable. For the rest of us its just a really good idea.

Pfft! Hiding is great for melee, too.

Does it, really? I know the spell descriptor says it does. However, I was almost certain they got rid of that when the big magic update happened a few years ago. Can someone confirm one way or the other?

It never feels like it's decaying, anyway.

I too was basing my information off the spell description. I'd love a confirmation one way or another as well.

I have since learned the error of my ways. :)
