In the pine crate you see some bronze coins, a medium cat's eye quartz, a huge amethyst, a huge turquoise stone, a medium green malachite stone, a small yellow sapphire, a small uncut diamond and a small uncut diamond.

Ok, I wanna get rich too, how much skill does it take for germs (I never can remember how to spell that. Both combats and disarm/lockpick)?

Hunting in germish'din takes a particular skillset. They have a special attack where they pick you up and throw you, if you're lucky out of the room, if you're not into another germish'din (or someone else in the room). You need a high evasion/reflex to avoid this and no encumberance. I have sott up as well. A high stamina also helps.

They're not particularly hard to kill - weapons 200+ can hit them easily enough. I'd recommend defenses in the 300+ range if you want to spend alot of time with 'em. Boxes also take the ~300+ range, depending on your agility I guess. They teach pretty well up to about ~400, if that helps to gauge their ability. Oh, and they flex (or at least they used to). My skills are well above my circle so that might help me more than some. Germish'din also teach skinning.

When the new boxes came out I noticed that the gems they dropped seemed to have gotten better, the boxes are just about the same, but they'll drop sapphires now along with some measely coins.

There's a reason no one hunts 'em. As a bonus though, you can climb up to Kartais and learn escape.

For Germ hunting, that skillset can also be hiding. Was sniping in there with pretty pathetic defenses ages ago when I was training in kartais. I always thought the reason no one hunted them, outside of scripting thieves, was because it was in Leth. Pretty fun critter.

They also break melee weapons pretty easy. Or at least brand new forged scimitar. I only hunted in there for boxes, stealth and longbow. First time I tried melee, they broke the new scimitar. If I remember right, I had about 410 evasion at the time, and learned little to none.

I do believe you are correct. Sometimes people think critters flex because they have a wide range

Thanks for the help! Well my box skill isn't nearly to 300 but my defense are near that. Also I have good bow. Thanks for the ranges; after hearing such awful stories about them, I just usually run as fast as I can past them and into the manor house.

Heh first critter I ever heard of that actually throws us...are there any more critters that do the same?

Also, does someone have a list of special attacks critters make in the realms. I was doing just fine with mama kra's until one lightening bolted me to death instantly. Would like a heads up when hunting. Contrary to popular opinion, I don't ALWAYS jump into the frey and start hacking--I think beforehand, sometimes. : D

There are critters that eat you alive (the thing in throne city). Malchata have the sand storm that tosses you around and you never know what room you might end up in. P5 has a lot of critters with special stuffs. Not sure what everything might be.

I've never had any damage to any weapon that was well made, but anything store bought will break.

As it is, everyone stay away from Germish, it's a small area, and I don't need the competition! ;)
