IMO, if all of your items have the same word in the tap, you're doing it wrong. No offense.

It's because Elven is awesome and expressive of exactly everything elven. Even though it contains no real elven quality beyond the words this is ELVEN!!

Pretty much i'm waiting for the Humans and Dwarves to follow suit.

Unspecified: Human, average in every way.
Elven: Dainty, yet strong
Dwarven: Ornate and strong
Gor'Tog: Oversized and crude
Elothean: silken, exotic, ornate
Gnomish: overly complicated and mechanical
S'kra: Desert wear, snake obsessed
Rakash: Loose-fitting
Prydaen: <no idea>
Kaldar: Mix between human and dwarven
Halfling: comfortable, homey

What makes elven silver, elven? Did Frodo ask what was elven about his mithril chain armor? No, because it was made by elves.

You guys are using that crappy ideology that you shouldnt use a racial words, because it doesnt tell anything. The description tells you about the item. The tap names the item. We are playing a text based game. Roll with it.

I was pretty sure the frodos mail was made by the dwarves. At least that's what I undestood from the books. I seem to remember bilbo getting it from a cave in "the hobbit". I could be wrong though.. it's been 15 years since i read the books.

I play a prydaen, as well as many other races. Has nothing to do with jealousy to not understand why people enjoy putting Elven to everything they can see.

It's not just you> I seen plenty of elves with elven everything. So the rarity of elven items or elven altered things, is an illusion.

My elf would wear some things that in my opinion make senses for him to wear, if it is something that leans towards his clan I probably would get it. But I think having Elven be an Adjective to replace actaul creativity is a shame.

To me if you say a gnome sized shoe, i'd assume it was made to fit a gnome. Elven boots can fit a human or a kaldar. So what makes them Elven. Is it a design? DO Elves have funny shaped feat, or oddly shaped heads for a different sort of head armor.

I'm not against elves, i'm not against any race having finely crafted items. I'm pro all that good stuff. I'm just confused by the use of Elven when there is not reason behind it.

I think your logic is pretty flawed here. I'm not wearing multiples of the same thing. Each item is rare, in of itself. There is not a single thing I have on, besides a quiver, gweth, etc, that you will find anywhere else.

Is there anything that Elves are bad at making or won't attach their name to? They're like the Nike of DR.

I challenge you to find 10 elven items, with elven in the description. (10 should be easy if it is the 'nike' of the realms)

Rules:

- It cant be made-up. Needs to be verifiable.
- It cant be one of my items.
- Someone must be wearing it.
- It cant be (or have been) store bought like elven silver, elven lace, elven stalking-boots, or elven longswords.
- It must actually be elven. Not a picture of an elven warrior, etc.
- It must be an item.
- It cant be writing. IE Elven script.

100 plat, to anyone that can do it. Ready set, go.

The big thing you are missing, is it has taken 8+ years for me to collect all of this (because they are indeed rare). I'm proud of my collection. I really could care less if people think it is repetitive. It my eyes, I'm wearing a rare collection that took a very long time to collect, and I'm very happy with it.

There are still a couple of items I've seen over the years, that I'd like to get, but sadly most are gone with the players that left with them.
