Being a ranger is so cool.
You remain concealed by your surroundings, convinced that your moving to fire went unobserved.
< With the speed and temerity of a swooping falcon, you snipe a barbed arrow at a giant black leucro. A giant black leucro fails to evade, failing miserably. The arrow lands a massive strike (11/22) that exposes bone along the entire left arm and spatters blood everywhere.
The barbed arrow lodges itself deeply into the black leucro!
[You're solidly balanced]
< Driving in like the irresistable force of a cyclone, you snipe a barbed arrow at a giant black leucro. A giant black leucro attempts to evade, stepping partially into the shot. The arrow lands an extremely heavy hit (9/22) that amputates the left arm and a good deal of the shoulder in a crippling blow.
That would have stuck if there was anything left to stick to!
The barbed arrow falls to the ground!
A giant black leucro collapses to the ground, yelping like a lost puppy calling for its mother until finally it ceases all movement.

The longer RT (I get 5 non-hidden, 7 hidden) and the damage reduction of the second arrow are major drains for alot of people.
I personally like it. I haven't noticed, one way or the other, how the XP is, but I tend to kill faster, when i need to.
Just my $.02

I do not do a lot of PvP anymore, but in the occasional tournament and back when I did PvP more in general, I always started with a dual shot. Is there any point in it though? At this point, not really. In most cases, if the second arrow hits at all, the first one already did a critical hit. Often times, the second one will be blocked or dodged, but the first will have made a kill anyway. The exception is if the first arrow hits a limb, but you otherwise outclass the target. In that instance, the dual-shot is helpful.
In PvE, at this point it seems most efficient to just use constant fire after aiming only a fraction of a second. If I shoot off two limbs, I will use a dual shot on the third shot since the next hit will be a kill anyway. I have not been paying attention to whether the experience system still works this way or not, but I believe that used to result in more experience since you essentially got to make an extra hit on every creature you killed.
It remains to be seen how useful dual shot will be under the new combat system. It may become more effective for general usage.
I still wish it was possible to, with more skill, increase the accuracy of the second shot. I am still hoping for a triple shot, as well.

If only Gilette made arrows.
BTW, just watched Robin Hood: Men in Tights. He shoots 6 arrows at once. Good times.

It's a boar. It doesn't like you.

::Dances through singing "We are men!!! We're men in tights!!"::
Remember when ... I think it was GM Jent?? ... told us we needed to train vocals and we all posted Songs we could sing on the trails, in true "men in tights" form?
Ahh the good ol' days.
:-)
(Sorry Sidatura, I could not resist!! I'll be good now...)

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

I gotta say I love dual load. Seems to train longbow faster than single shots. And I LOVE dual load when in one shot I kill the adan'f mage. Love it. Off with their heads!
Zinaca and her wolf, Lucky who tries to hard to retrieve arrows. I think he thinks we are playing fetch. Ahhh babies. Love them
