It's definitely a clever idea and not half bad, but the edits are really choppy, and they could use more depth. Even taking samples from one source and adding a drum machine, as Pogo did in the song posted earlier, could be done more smoothly.

I passed through the seven levels of the Candy Cane forest, through the sea of swirly twirly gum drops, and then I walked through the Lincoln Tunnel.

So...I've had a horrible day so far, and it's only 8:45am. After reading this I'm sure you'll understand why.

I woke up with "Angel of the Morning" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPlRcoYj32c) stuck in my head. Except when I got in and started YouTubing it, all I could find were covers (not that Merilee Rush was the original, either, but her version's definitely the quintessential version of the song to me).

One of these covers was the Juice Newton ("Queen of Hearts" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FMTprSEbF4&NR=1) version. I watched it, but it didn't really do it for me. Then, out of the corner of my eye--and this is why I both hate and love YouTube--I saw this gem:

Wow. What can I say? If you ever really wanted to re-live the 80s but also kind of want to hurt yourself, this is the perfect video for you. The guy in the convertible, Juice tumbling down the cliff, the mirror image of her singing with herself, the popular "paint" effect from older video editing boards--everything you love about video production in the early 80s is there.

You'll notice at 2:39 that they start replaying clips from earlier in the video, so you and Juice can re-live old times, I guess. I suspect that the intense production in the first 2:38 just ran so far over budget that they had to splice together an ending all slap-dash at the last moment or something. I don't know.

Anyway, I thought I'd share, because sharing is caring, and I hope someone gets one of these songs stuck in their head this morning like I did.
