I am working on some notes for myself, and I want to make sure that I have all my ducks in a row, so here is my question for those who play commoners more than I do:
What systems, like forage careful and medium-sized arm-worn shields, are commoners left out of that normal skill set-related rules would make you think that they would have access to?
I am not referring to guild-specific skills like backstab, scouting or trading, but stuff that would normally be considered as open to everyone. Or, especially, any bonuses or special benefits normally given to those who are secondary in a skill set that was not also given to the true commoners.

Cannot focus if your bonded. cannot be stolen from.
CAN get on the ferry from Leth to Crossings without any money. (goes to your debt)
can AGREE to talk to a mentor whenever you feel like bugging them and teleporting.
can walk around inside the war mage guild ( might be true for other guilds too, don't mess around the guildleaders too much)
CANNOT go to the zaulfung stones, need to be dragged thru some barrier of eldyehoo or whatnot.
which means its a pain to go to swampies.
You say, "Hey bub"
You have:
15 copper Kronars.
5 copper Lirums.
4 bronze, and 14 copper Dokoras.
>go ferry
[Assuming you mean the ferry Kertigen's Honor.]
The Captain stops you and requests a transportation fee of 35 kronars as you board the craft. But I see you're pretty young and don't have the sense to keep enough coins on ya fer emergencies so I'll just add it to yer debt.
["Kertigen's Honor"]
The ferry rocks gently as you step aboard. Surrounded by the cool, briny air of the Segoltha, you take your place on the deserted deck and gaze up into the night sky. You also see the south bank docks.
Obvious paths: none.
You scoff.
Name: Sentai Gallows Subject of the Ferdahl Race: Elf Guild: None Yet
Gender: Male Age: 53 Circle: 0
You were born on the 30th day of the 5th month of Uthmor the Giant in the year of the Amber Phoenix, 325 years after the victory of Lanival the Redeemer.

>>cannot be stolen from.
No skills yet? Stealing protection, as mentioned in another thread, is based off of certain skill ranks, not circle or Novice title.
>>CAN get on the ferry from Leth to Crossings without any money. (goes to your debt)
Should also be skill-based. Once you reach the point where you can use the shops, you should only be able to get on the ferries and barges when you have the proper fee with you.
>>can AGREE to talk to a mentor whenever you feel like bugging them and teleporting.
Be careful on this, you can all too easily sneak into the area of mech abuse on this. Also, at some point, it might just tell you about their availability, not offer the teleport option, if it is properly skill-based. At least, that's what I seem to recall from my commoner with 20+ combats. And any such interview is supposed to end with them sending you back to where you were teleported from, instead of allowing you to walk away.
>>can walk around inside the war mage guild ( might be true for other guilds too, don't mess around the guildleaders too much)
But can you get upstairs past the elemental, or just get to the rooms on the first floor to find Gauthus? All guilds should allow both the unguilded and first circle characters access to their guild leaders. Otherwise, how do you join?
>>CANNOT go to the zaulfung stones, need to be dragged thru some barrier of eldyehoo or whatnot.

IIRC, the same problem should exist with the barrier outside rockies. I think that one is circle-based, as well.

I still get the teleport option with over 100 in several skills and most of my combats approaching 100.
<<IIRC, the same problem should exist with the barrier outside rockies. I think that one is circle-based, as well.>>
Can walk in and out of rockies without a problem, not sure if there's some sort of skill barrier though.
