How does that work for commoners?

>>oh thats a pretty sweet deal.
Just a few points to remember:
1) Only MD from the Magic skill set is trainable, although all the other skills can be taught to a commoner.
2) Any guild-specific skill that can't be taught - can't be learned by a commoner.
3) Since a commoner can't circle, a commoner will only have their starting stats, starting 600 TDPs, and skill-based TDPs; none of the 50+circle and 100+circle TDP bonuses.
Which means, from what I have heard, is that at some point combat advancement slows down significantly as the commoner has to work on non-combt skills to gain enough TDPs to increase combat-related stats enough to handle those nastier creatures. YMMV as to exactly when the major problem sets in.

>>Skill can overcome any physical or mental deficiency. You can hunt anything, but the further your progress, the more ranks you will need as apposed to a guilded person of the same level
Wouldn't there come a point where you need more ranks to start hunting something than it teaches to? Or else a gap between what your survivable hunting creatures teach to as compared to what the next step up the creature ladder would require for you to survive.
That would be the sticking point where you would need to either start accepting either lots of deaths for little skill gain, by having to hunt something that needs more skill (with a commoner's stats) than your previous possible hunting grounds could provide; or finding one or more hunting partners to give your side an MO penalty and quicker kills than a solo hunter could achieve.

weapons for a commoner slow down significantly in learning at about 150, Might be because in order to hit the critter a little harder and better i need more str/agility, but Perception/swimming and the rest move really well at past 200.
Hunter Nimmo/ ???????????<- - - commoner in training.
There are two ways of meeting difficulties, you alter the difficulties or you alter yourself to overcome them.

player of Nimmo is absolutely correct, as far as melee goes.
Its still possible to inflict damage with a bow and some hele arrows at that level (comp bow and blunted non-lodgin arrow) on a non-shielded opponent. Melee is a different beast altogether.
It gets harder with your lack of reflex, stamina and strength from a melee defensive standpoint.
missiling as a commoner aint too bad if your a hider. Real tough to handle swarms on-level tho.
Sentai.

I'm having a decent run of things post-150. The real trick is multi-opp. Advancing the skill doesn't seem to do much when my reflex is so comparatively poor. So three of anything that will teach my primaries well also gets me flattened in short order. I can still learn MO well, but I have to hunt very carefully in swarms. On the topic of ascending the combat ladder, I can only say that I've had to learn patience. That means hunting something till it absoultely won't teach me, not because I get bored and want to move up. I remember being in vipers long after guilded folk would've likely have been able to switch to leucros.
