Black leather gloves, rapiers and tinder boxes on goblins, silverfish in ships rats, jumping through the floor of the old barn in goblins to get a wound to tend. Cave bears slaughtering folks, cougars also slaughtering folks, massive ranks of evasion off of beisswurms. Shard opening and me standing there going whats a Dragon Priest? <duh!> Leucros opening up and being lead to my death due to a massive crash...I could go on and on but I am getting all misty eyed now!

Bats in the belfry!

Seeing my first silverfish and wondering if I should pet it or run away. Fortunately a young barbarian saw what was up and sent me scampering!

Making lots of gold off of the pelts from pots and badgers- after sharing the take with the empath who came hunting with me!

I still remember my first fight against a musk hog. It was an epic battle. I got cuts and bruises to my leg and I thought I might die of blood loss. I'll never forget that first mental imagery I conjured up.

Oh, and silverfish in the shipyard? Yeah, I was stunned when I died at fifth circle. Eventually I graduated to sharing a room in goblins.

Taking my first bannister ride down the Pheonix staircase. The feeling of adrenaline rushing through my veins at the thought of hunting a gargoyle. The constant gweths for help in rock guardians.

Man. Q is OLD!

I remember the day of the undead, where they turned off death for a day. My first barb was like 3rd circle, and someone took him along out to rock trolls. Came back to town with literally no chest. Fun times.

I remember the day they turned off death, or at least you would autoraise as soon as you did die, though it didn't seem to help. A fellow up near crocs decided to 'try something' and opened up a rogue moongate. The varmits that came out not only quickly killed me but killed rather thouroughly. No legs or arms, I had to slowly make my way back to Crossings (I guess I was rolling myself along the road) to be healed, dying in virtually every room along the road.

Good times.

Though it seems that something like that (turning off death) may have happened more than once over the years ...

Shapeshifter lying outside the Guild until they would let him circle to 30. Everyone sitting in the Trader Guild socializing. My first raise. Shard opening. Rowan's tree and the jellybeans. The night the merchant came with moneybelts. Phangor rerolling...and rerolling...and rerolling... When milady's cloaks were coveted. Buying a snake charm for 6 plat. Therae, Luigi, Shapeshifter, Tera... Claw trolls. When gargs were the scariest critter.

Periperiu swords with those amazing appraisals. Listening to the top barbarian on the register teach HE to 70! He hunted crocodiles, while I could barely keep up with goblins.

Here's a few more,

Never mind selling outside the bank we used to be able to sell INSIDE the bank at the tellers window. Rolling up new characters and entering through the East gate of Crossing. Snowbeasts invading Crossing gobs. Being lost in the Hunting preserve forever. The old ranger grove and the endless stealing, stalking and teaching cirlces there. The Gorbesh singing campfire songs and the smell of smores from thier camp. Making massive plats in blood wolves. There is just so much to remember.

people actually wanting bleeders to train first aide cause there wasn't any infections back then, running across a familiar for the first time and thinking it was an AI(only figured out it wasn't when i got one of my own), people that actually wanted to group together, the rats being so full that sometimes you had to ask others if you could hunt in their room as well

I still have some of those in my vault also.

I surprise that Dulci didn't mention Dung Beetles. Another to add is Battle Spheres.

How about licking your sword to give yourself a tendable bleeder?

the day fireball casting Fire Sprites overan Riverhaven..
finding a Ilmenite tipped wand on a goblin and saying wonder what this does?
everyone wanting a jagged edged outrider broadsword
the day the west gate in riverhaven opened (AKA Dung beetles) and Strake and Raft saying 'come on it will be easy', me dying 45 secs later.
everyone wanting a Gorbesh clenched fist broadsword
the day I realized that Lord Sorrow had cut off the NTR and I was stuck in crossing for the duration of the war.
everyone wanting a elpalzi veteran claymore sheath

just a few of the many...

The first time I figured out an in game puzzle (without asking anyone about it in the chatroom). Those great invasions during Christmas, April Fools day, July 4th, and Halloween. Hunting with people that you can tell (after the fact of course) will be pacesetters.

It doesn't give you a bleeder anymore, just scratches.

you have to do it multiple times to get a bleeder, warmies have it easier, just burn their beards off a few times.. but who would want a head bleeder anyway, interferes with almost everything

- People wanting Wolf Clan leathers.
- Velver invasions.
- Those two-handed swords from an invasion creature that could only by lifted by a select few after they were buffed up. I don't recall anyone being able to swing them.

Here's some items you don't see much of anymore:

- Bronzed cambrinth ring bearing the crest of the Warrior Mage Guild.
- Therengian war belt
- the old money belts
- Deep black double leathers
- Baladrana's
- Snake Charms were mentioned earlier.
- The mage robes. I think these came in red and blue.
- The old traveler's backpacks.

Heh, cyclops invasions.

I think Gurt or someone swung one once. He had a huge RT (this was before a cap was put in place) and he had to assist because it actually broke his fatigue.

Elemental sensitivity. Asketi's Ride (I miss that one). "Stuffing" your backpack with a sword or something to make room for something that otherwise wouldn't fit. Lurksponge. Gnomeless tranquility. Young paladins lying down in crocs in full plate at first circle to quickly gain armor ranks.

Man I remember killing a bunch of those Veterans back then (smite foe had some major kick at the time). I didn't realize that the sheaths were anything special and just left them lying around. Had to pay 50 plat for one a week later =(

There were a few paladins who could lift and swing it once, me included. Gotta love the heroic strength spell.

Goblins dropping gweths like candy, 1400 people in game with 700 in the crossing, loud, obnoxious auctions and frequent conflicts, lightning bolt wands and the slaughtering fields out the west gate, full guilds and frequent wars. Course there was the crashes and constant lag, but still, it was pretty awesome and exciting being constantly forced into new situations by the sheer frezny that was the Crossing, especially for a pragmatist like myself who doesnt like to pretend conflict with set boundaries and all that.

Hehehe...Traderman, Mageman, etc. that were Phangor alts.

Rowan's spiked salmon that she'd smack people with was always amusing.
