If a character has an assisted wedding, they can hyphenate their last name with that of their spouse. What happens if one of the characters getting married is one of the newer characters that has no last name? Do they get their spouses last name, or will they still have no last name?

If the newer character with no last name weds a character with a last name, the new person will have the option of using the older one's name.

Ryeka, my heroine! So, just so I can get this straight, if 30th circle Billy BoBob marries 10th circle Betty, she has the option of becoming Betty BoBob. But if 30th circle Betty marries 10th circle Billy BoBob, they are out of luck (for now)?

Or... I read to deep into that, and being 'older' does not mean circles... hehe.

I think that is normally how it is done with those with last names already, not sure if they can EITHER have the last name changed OR hiphenated, but I think that is how it goes. I was just curious about having no name, what would happen. And I was told by a very reliable source that it could be changed... but, that is my understanding. Someone may know better.

Either spouse can have the other's last name. And either spouse's last name can be hyphenated. They don't even have to match.

it's actually a function of the bonded wedding ring... so if you can get a bonded ring, you can have 'married' last names. even if you do not get the wedding youself.

My wife returned tonight after a long absence.
This was the first time I had a chance to try out the name thing with my wedding ring.

I can get hername-myname, myname-hername, and hername.
But I cannot get myname.

There should be four options, not just three.
And it should be available even when they're not awake.

Is my last name lost forever? Is there any way to change it back?
I do like sharing her name when she's around, but that's only once a year or so, and I'd like my own, familiar name when she's not.

Any help would be appreciated.

>Tap your ring?

Tried that. All it did was the usual drawing-attention-to-your-ring-by-tapping-it-on-your-cheek thing it always did.

Well, don't put my there... just 'tap band' or 'tap ring' or whatever... here is me.

>tap band
>You absent-mindedly tap your finger against your face, discreetly drawing attention to your wedding band.
>The thought crosses your mind that maybe you should go by the name Raydell D'Rougus-<lastname> now.

>You decide that maybe you should go back to being known as Raydell D'Rougus.
