Oh no, part of it uses LT in the calculations, cry cry. Too bad I don't have an ability that can give me up to 80 ranks in any weapon I want to compensate for this if I don't want to train or backtrain an additional weapon because that would be really useful.
I mean, I sure would rather use my stealth boosting khri and then throw dirt and then stab/shoot/ambush them instead of an actual combat khri which can boost my effectiveness in all my combats by a significant margin since my stealth skills are slacking so much.

Wow Navak. You need to calm down son. I don't think you remember how threads here go. Other guilds don't do so hot over here. We tend to be frustrating. :)

Other than that. Yeah.. you and Slaris were really trolling. I agree with you on Valcer in most threads. But he has a valid point in this one. His requests for a stat contest ability get a little old... but when it comes down to it. He's right. We don't have a stat contest spell. You of all people should realize how powerful they can be. You roar everything within a mile radius.

I'm not in the business of defending Valcer, but a sting was derailed in which some pretty basic concerns were posted in a respectful way about a guild ability that relies on, to some degree, an unpopular weapon. Suggestions were made on how to make it more accessible to the guild as a whole. Thanks was frequently given for the efforts of the GMs. Somehow that was construed into whining and complaining and a defeatist attitude on the part of the thieves. Pretty much only Valcer was called out for that, so I can only presume that the motive was more personal in nature than objective. Apparently I was correct.
I'm pissed because the thread turned into a conflict when the majority of us were trying to offer constructive ideas, not chew out the GM's.

Point taken. There is a very good reason for that. The points you made, I addressed. Conversely, the points I made, you addressed.
Attempting that with Valcer, and I tried to keep them separate, didn't work out so well.

It's not "strict realism" it's how things work in the game. Everything from clumps of dirt, through those 40 stone axes or clubs (though generally only 39 and under so maybe it's a rounding issue) is LT when thrown.
I also didn't even address Valcer or mention whining until he decided to call me an idiot, but this is the same guy that says he is a parapalegic and his bad spelling and grammar is due to the speech recognition software he uses so maybe I'm just a jerk.

So... what's the moral of the story? Not sure there is one. Be happy with what you get is the main one I guess. It just seems odd to me that 3 years later... the same situation arises.
As far as the... "that's the way it works" When you try to throw dirt while brawling... You get the, that's too light to use like that.
So... it's technically NOT the way it works. Because it's too light to be used as an LT. I agree there are some similarities. But... dirt is an activity that allows for a lot of mistakes. It's not like presicion throwing a dagger throw someone's armor. The dust has a large area of effect, and you just have to be in the general area. To me... brawling makes as much sense as LT in that sense.
Anyways... it's not the first time this exact debate has come up. Just thought I'd point that out.

Again, I didn't post anything about whining or even remotely about you, Valcer, until you called me an idiot. I even double-checked to make sure I hadn't inadverntly done so and found that the next previous post by me in that area was 300 some posts before the dirt discussion came up.
On the dirt discussion, which guild is still getting stat vs stat abilities or spells added to the game since you brought that up as well.
I'm not the Man trying to keep you poor thieves down but if the reasoning behind something seems to make sense to me, I'm not just going to curl up in a corner as you bitch about it if I happen to be reading.

300 posts ago cause i been away for 2 months i aint even played, there is hardly a single post ive made in last 3 years yourself didnt respond to in an insulting and argumentive manner when it didnt even concern you at all.
I posted one topic in the barb folder and it was because a GM told me too, they said if i wanted to know the roar stats to post there, it was not a response to any post of yours about anything barb related, i did follow up in my own thread. One thread which i created in 8 years, I never responded to your posts there.

as for the barb issue, i have no problem with warpaint only being applicable by barbs. the only thing there I object to is barbs being able to "see through" it in the case of a thief wearing it. if said thief is wearing barb title, shouldn't be able to see through it.

now at the end when royce went on leave and was making lies about 5th passage then i complained but the majority of his stay when he was working i didnt even post. I complain when stuff aint being done thats the way of life, i dont go harrass other people tho and complain about their posts every time.
I got no problem with agreeing to never posting in response to navak if hed do the same, i doubt he can do it tho.

You don't fight for any guild, you complain about everything, all the time. Your "thanks" are often nothing more than your underhanded swats at staff and your suggestions, I guess you don't actually post any of those suggestions in a suggestion folder for all those other guilds or else they have mysteriously vanished, are usually "laughable at best".

The reason you were called an idiot id because for 5 years you post after every single suggestion post i make. ANd everyone of them argues how we dont need it and usually goes on how im dumb and dont know anything about thieves and how we already have this and that and how ours is the best thing already and we dont need no more. One since i got back a few days ago already said i know about as much as 10th circle thief or something. I know more then dang near every thing. I didnt make the rather ann thread, find one i made that he didnt troll me on, and im sure theres one or two but not many, the fact that you tried to find ONE just proves the point.
Nice to see he brought another barb over to the folder to try to stick up for em tho and hes insulted me plenty in the past, one which i mentioned this week, hence my insults...shrugs im sick of the whole debate notice he aint commented on the bet to stop posting in response to each other id be glad to accept cause i dont anyways, never once argued with a thread or topic he made in his folders.
