Hello, I am joining up with the Novice Traders who Lose Animals guild. I just started my char last night, started doing contracts, did one sucesfully, then logged off without stabling the yak. Poor little guy. anyway, The clerk at the last stable I was at tells me to "check with the stables." Why doesn't the greasy little swine check himself? That's where I was! Anyway, how do I locate him, if still alive {gulp} and if not, how do I rent another since they keep telling me I already have one.

G'day,
Assuming you were in Dirge when you asked, that isn't the guild stables in that town, even though it says stable in the room name. There is another stable in Dirge for caravans.

Hmm, I saw another stable near there. I didn't see anybody to ask though, or any yaks. Maybe I did get another one when I got another contract (in crossing), and then when they told me I already had one rented, I thought they meant the one in Dirge, when in fact I got another one in crossing, which I just ran away from... lol Doin' great so far. Anybody here NOT lose an animal early in their career?
Of course I found this disconcerting bit of information on another website:
http://www.dm.net/~aldamus/Mentors/DragonRealms/guides/inns.htm
The fare at Arnack's Tavern seems mostly to come from denizens of my own trader profession. Lost yaks and mules
seem find themselves inside of Arnack's pot quickly enough. Surprisingly, he does culinary wonders with these
tough old critters, leading my dear husband and I to wonder if the only good yak is a yak-kabob.
What have I done?

Don't feel too bad about it, It happens to all that I've spoken with. Real life events happen fast and you may not always be able to get to a stable. It is much better now that the stables are reasonably priced and will store caravans/yaks for a good amount of time to allow you to get back if necessary.
Not sure if it's kept track of in the long run, but I'd bet I'd be near the top of the list for starved off and killed yaks/caravans.
