Would be cool that if a crafted item uses certain materials that Traders can appraise the individual base values of those materials along with everything else.
Examples
1) a jute backpack would appraise like a jute backpack always would, but Traders would also know that X volume jute was used, and that's valued at Y.
2) a 70% steel 30% platinum sword appraises like it always does, but Traders would also know that X volume of steel was used, and that's valued at Y, and A volume of platinum was also used, and that's valued at B.
Might even let Traders try to set up their own multiple-appraisal value items for training purposes: crafting up silver/gold/platinum/animite widgets so they could have something high value that also has material breakdowns, so on.
The teeth lands a solid (5/23) hit that pokes the teeth into Turul's rear end (more embarrassing than painful!).

Eh, wouldn't hurt to prereq the tech for a deep metal breakdown, but I also don't think anyone is losing any sleep if that tech is partially infringed upon (since they'd just be told what's used in it, not how much). As it is, people can generally figure out what an item is crafted out of just by knowing the weight, volume needed, and general metal knowledge.

Went and looked at my original post.
What I meant is that they'd see metal values, not not necessarily that X amount of it was used.
In other words, they'd know X Kronars worth of Platinum was used, but not 3 volumes worth.
