Zadraes,

I ordered all the items plus shelf and now I'm wondering what the syntax is to use the scales to measure items?

I put the item I wanted measured on the scale but received no results.

l scale on shelf
You see a small scale mounted in an open case. A bronze balance beam has a tray resting on one end, and a sliding weight is mounted on the other side of the beam. Numbers are engraved on the beam and read right to left starting at zero and ending at 150.
The scale is not balanced.
Currently there is a stout pickaxe on the tray.

I've tried push, pull, weigh, measure, tap, slide, to try to balance the scale.

Perhaps a way to study the scale might help with syntax issues?

Also when I was testing caravans I noticed some changes but there is one that still bugs me a bit.

The driver of your black caravan acknowledges the order to lead to Leth Deriel.
You pass on the order to lead to your driver, who makes sure your black caravan does your bidding.

Are we supposed to get the new and then the old message? What bugs me is that in the first sentence he's acknowledged the order but also has acknowledged the order in the first half of the second sentence.

Should I see the bucket burbling if the shelf isn't turned to the bucket? It was turned to the scale.

>put scim on scale on shelf
You put your gold-hilted scimitar on a small sturdy scale.
>slide scale on shelf
You slowly slide the weight until it balances the beam to the level mark.
>read scale on shelf
The weight is sitting on the number 31.

Done!

>Should I see the bucket burbling if the shelf isn't turned to the bucket?

Well, I didn't think you should, but it turns out that I handled those mechanics differently than I remembered. YES, you should hear the bucket if it isn't turned to it.

>Are we supposed to get the new and then the old message?

At the moment, yes. Part of cleaning up those mechanics was cutting several hundred lines of duplicated code and standardizing how the 'lead to' commands worked. For some of the options, this results in duplicated messaging. I'll re-scan the copy in Prime and see if I can use one or the other, but either way, this is one of those few visible changes for the moment.
