I've probably missed this from somewhere else, but is there a way to increase the Pattern Hues duration without recasting the cantrip every 10 minutes or so? I haven't precisely measured the duration, but it seems rather brief.

Recasting PH while it's still up (and with the same color) extends the duration. I'm not sure if the cantrip itself is fixed duration or stat based; mine lasts about 6 minutes if I don't extend it.

Out of curiosity, I wonder why the duration is so short for a single cast? It certainly wouldn't seem to be unbalancing for it to last longer than that. It would be wonderful if it would last longer without such frequent refreshing. Of course, if anyone has experienced longer durations with higher stats or skills, I would be interested to hear about it.

Better to start out small and uptweak than the alternative. While it isn't an unbalancing ability per say, it is still supposed to be a difficult cantrip. I'll see what I can do about extending the duration, but don't expect it to last for hours.

multiple word colors seem to confuse it still though.

gest sunfire gold
As you begin to trace the complex sigils of the Pattern Hues cantrip around yourself, you realize that the lines of power cannot be shaped into the color sunfire. With a brief surge of energy, your cantrip fails.
Roundtime: 3 seconds.

Very true. Thank you for checking into it. I enjoy the cantrip as it is, and a longer duration would make it even better.

The way Wythor explained it, every color has one word that is associated with it. You should try "ges sunfire" and see what happens. Using two-word gestures is reserved only for prefixes.

Sure, I'll see about doing that shortly. I'm also adding more information to the messaging you get from the Guildleader about this cantrip.

>>Same thing happens if you use just sunfire that happens when you use sunfire gold

gest sunfire
You trace the complex sigils of the Pattern Hues cantrip around yourself.
The air around you becomes suffused with a sunfire gold glow.

gest sun
You trace the complex sigils of the Pattern Hues cantrip around yourself.
The sunfire gold aura around you brightens briefly as your cantrip bolsters it, then fades to its original intensity.

Seems to work fine. What are you typing exactly?

By the way, I extended the duration of Pattern Hues significantly.

On another note, I added some fluff messaging to Crystallize Ice about chilling drinks.

Interesting.

I can't seem to duplicate your problem; 'sunfire' should work as well as 'sun'. The only reason why sunfire wouldn't work if sun did work is if sunfire were spelled incorrectly. Since I don't see that in your post, and it's definitely working with the spelling 'sunfire' (I've tried it over and over and it works properly every time), I really have no idea what's happening. At least you can get it to work. :)

I squashed a very minor bug in the cantrip as well, though it's probably one few if any people found. It was just an oddity of the color parsing that was choosing to respond to certain non-colors with either no message at all or a bolstering of whatever aura you already had.
