now that we have a full staff on the warmie team, any chance of giving us an idea about when the new guild requirements and the enchanting are going to come? do we have to wait until hot harvest nights?

what do you gms think of prepping and casting all at once? we can hide our spell preps with enough magic, any chance of us being able to bypass all of the finger wagging when we know enough magic? or is there some aspect of casting mechanics that require us to prep and cast as two different commands? i guess we already have prep and then snap, but i was just wondering if we could eventually be able to do something like:
if pm 500 har 500, then
cast ael 15 troll chest

The new guild requirements were released a couple of months ago when Galain circled. Last I heard the proposal for enchantment had been submitted, don't hold your breath on that one. There's a lot of work between proposal and implemented system.

I would like to answer your enchanting question with a post GM Rigby put up not too long ago in the Ability/Skills/Magic folder

The current plan for enchanting for Warrior Mages and Clerics has not been approved and 'soon' is definitely not a good word to describe when they will go active. Apparently, the WM enchanting plan was not following all of the rules.

<<There are several key rules for enchanting which are "set in stone," regardless of the status of any given Enchanting system. Consider this the official word, please.

1) Spells will play a significant role in enchanting, some of which will be dedicated enchanting spells.
2) The target difficulty level will be comparable to the skills typical for 50th+ level characters.
3) The more potent the enchantment, the more steps required for its creation. Complex processes will be encouraged.
4) Learning to Enchant will require a quest. Quests will be encouraged for other applications.>>

My responses

1) Someone asked this earlier, not too long ago. Here is the answer. Keep some spell slots open for when this comes on-line. There are enchanment specific spells which need to be in place before enchanting comes on-line.
2) I don't read this as 'you need to be 50+ in circles'. I do read this as the certain skills needed to enchant will be at 50+ circle requirement levels. For lower circle people, if you have been getting the bare minimum in the required skills, then you are looking at circle 50+. (No, I don't know what the required skills are, but I do have my own opinions into it)
3) Enchanting will not be something we can sit down and bang out several in 5 minutes. Also, I am planning on their being a 'monetary value' to creating enchantments by using semi-expensive components.
4) Quests and riddles are required, not hack and slash. Travelling to distant places, finding that hard to reach item/person, etc.

I have no idea how much effort our WM team has put into the current proposal, but it sounds like they still have some more thinking to do. I stand behind our team on this effort. Could our team post some areas (specifics??) in which they need some ideas on this? I would hate for us to be spinning our wheels trying to create a new system from scratch when I am sure there are only a few holes in the current plan.

Since we're on the subject of asking the team some things, I have a few questions:

1) Any news on the nearly 3 year old Warrior Mage Shop that was in QC over a year ago?

2) Has the team started having preliminary discussions yet on the viability of PP after 300?

3) Can we have an invisiblity spell (I know ya said no, but since I'm persistant, I was kinda sorta hoping to catch ya'll in a good mood - grins).

4) Can we expect some exciting things for our guild during HSN, compared to last year (not that it wasn't good mind you, it was just a rangerly kinda year)?

5) If Gyren and Frogspawn get married this summer, can we make this a monumental guild event with lotsa beer and tarts as well as hand out enchanted, elemental fire breathing bunny slippers to the guest?

That is all. Have a nice day.

I don't care if they get married, I just want those slippers!

And as a side note, and inspired by my recent gardening exploits, I suggest a 'summon fire ant horde' spell/ablity/enchantment.

<<1) Any news on the nearly 3 year old Warrior Mage Shop that was in QC over a year ago?>>

It's being worked on, honest, you may have to wait a little longer on it, but we will get it out to you.

<<2) Has the team started having preliminary discussions yet on the viability of PP after 300?>>

I beleive that there are some things that PP does after 300 ranks already.

<<3) Can we have an invisiblity spell (I know ya said no, but since I'm persistant, I was kinda sorta hoping to catch ya'll in a good mood - grins).>>

::grins:: How about, we'll get it out to you the day after the universe implodes?

<<4) Can we expect some exciting things for our guild during HSN, compared to last year (not that it wasn't good mind you, it was just a rangerly kinda year)?>>

Yes, we've got a preliminary list of things that we're doing for HSN. No I'm not telling what but there's some pretty darn good ones in there, IMHO.

<<5) If Gyren and Frogspawn get married this summer, can we make this a monumental guild event with lotsa beer and tarts as well as hand out enchanted, elemental fire breathing bunny slippers to the guest?>>

As this will never happen, sure. But only if you're bringing the beer and tarts. Oh and the elemental fire breathing bunny slippers too.

Ow! Ummm how about not, my experiences with fire ants in the past have been... unpleasant to say the least. Perhaps we can give you a fire spell that toasts them instead, it'd be like frying them with a magnifying glass!
