But there is a very distinct difference in "people with 800 MD skill" and "people who exploited broken MD exp gain". Is there not one single war mage in existence that has as much MD skill as any one of these people who "exploited broken exp"?

There are people in TF who have 800 ranks of MD right now, and have gained it without broken exp gain (which is a moot point anyhow). Granted, they scripted 24/7, but TF has been live for about 1/4th the total time of Prime, so it stands to reason that those who have practiced MD from DR's inception, for 1/4 the time of a TF'er completely maxed out in skill, have the same amount of ranks. If the issue here is with people with HIGH MD RANKS, then make that the issue. Not those with HIGH MD RANKS gained, in part, by using an unbalanced (in your opinion) system. That's called a double standard, and the only reason someone might use such an argument would be to "thin out the ranks", perhaps placing themselves higher in the overall percentile.

Shrug.

<<Lindseyc's post>>

Your absolutely right. That is another troubling problem with it. I though referred to it as massive MD ranks in reflection of other ranks and circle. It's pretty common for Warrior Mages to have exceptional skills above reqs, I'm set for another 20 or so circles, TM being the only thing holding me back. But take into consideration someone with 300 PM, Harness, PP, Target and 800 MD that not only creates a marked imbalance for those at similar levels of skills (someone with 400 or thereabout in all 5) But also for those below and above them, especially if the skill that may be heavily based on TM. And no Linseyc I am not lobbying for a solution that would put me or anyone else ahead of the curve, simply stating the problems Meanne sees and GMs may have to deal with.

People used to be able to learn obscene ranks of hiding and stalking from Critters way below them. Perhaps we should take away their ranks?

Seriously though. What's done is done! I am sure there will be different levels of enchanting, and the caps would be somewhat reasonable.

Yes, you can 24/7 script insane amounts of MD. However, in Prime, you'll either get the boot for being afk, or simply have no life and/or both. The GMs seem to be reconstructing experience gain so that everything evens out in the End. What the end is, and if it even exists, who knows? :>

It seems as though people are crying for unfairness before we have even seen the proposal of how enchanting works or what the caps are.

It seems as though the original statements in this thread were for the GMs to simply take it into account since they are reading the boards and listening to our thoughts on enchantment while it's still being worked on. There has not been crying, save for the people who keep responding and nudging people's posts in that direction. The concerns are legitimate in my opinion and I am confident the GMs will bring us a great product no matter how complicated the system may be.

Thats at least the second time I have read a statement like that. People, if its not in the post, don't put it there. No one ever suggested anything of the like (though I'm sure those posters who look to instigate will do so anyway).

I think there have been some constructive conversations taking place in regards to a very big project for the wm guild with major impact potential. I think it is benificial to voice concerns and suggestions while things are still developing.

I've enjoyed reading the different suggestions, keep it up.

My apologies. By people and crying, I meant a certain few exaggerating the problem of the situation to Epic Proportions.

Again, I agree with you, but as I point out <up there> some of the reactions to the initial problem is a bit overdramatized.
