One thing that our guild seems to be lacking is a defense for mental attacks. I was wondering if a new pathway might be the right way to achieve this.

I don't really see this as a pathway because mental attacks aren't targeted. Now you can make the argument that they should be, but until then I think this would make more sense in the form of a spell proposal. (Or perhaps a side effect of having a high level familiar at your side?)

veil of ice seemed to help against mental attacks, but that was just a few casts with a 55th moonie and 59th circle warmie playing around and testing it, but none of the mb spells got through

I think a lot of people tend to overlook the placebo effect in VOI. That feeling of security goes a long way. Great spell.
