From a strictly OOC standpoint:
I want to submit a personal petition with regard to official sanctioning for the Fyearikloa'i Rensh'a. I recognize that sanctioning has been put on hold for the time being - however - I'd like to at least present some points in favor of making an exception.
1. Originally there were four Official Orders. Exceptions were made in the past to allow some others in. So, it's obviously possible.
2. I realize there are several impressive and respectable Unofficial Orders out there waiting for their sanctioning. However, I also think that the Fyearikloa'i Rensh'a is the most complete package with regards to Orders. Their charter is solid, their RP skills as a group are beyond compare, their dedication to their purpose is the focal point in the lives of their characters even beyond the Order, and they offer a new alternative to a large base of characters who don't want to be involved in the militant style RP or the "helping hand" style RP of the OWR. Scholars.
3. They are the most well known authority on all things Elothean. They have begun work on all the races. They work hard to make that knowledge available to players game-wide, as well as characters when the opportunity presents itself. They already provide, without benefit other than the enhancement of their own roleplay and others around them, a more sophisticated service than some/all existing orders, official or non-official.
4. They continue to meet the sanctioning requirements on a regular basis, in spite of ongoing frustration, even when some of the Official Orders are not. Their determination, dedication, and enthusiasm for the concept of Order RP, in my opinion, has never been outdone by unofficial or Official orders anywhere. They deserve to be recognized for their determination and consistent efforts to succeed without allowing discouragement to slow down their spread of RP skill and knowledge.
I would be surprised to find anyone who would argue any of this with me. That's my plea. I know there are other Orders anxiously awaiting their own official sanctioning - but it's truly my belief that the Fyearikloa'i Rensh'a has earned an exception to the freeze on sanctioning based on the statements above. No matter what they face, they refuse to compromise in their dedication to roleplay and the concept of the Order. Their performance doesn't rollercoaster, and they've never given up.
The intention of this isn't to stir up trouble, and I hope I don't end up making anyone (GMs included) unhappy with me over this. I just really feel that this group of people has performed so far above the bar for so long, they really do deserve this.

Athiana,
I am sincerely flattered by your praise towards my Order. It's always nice to hear good words about one's work; it helps keep morale up. ;)
That said, there is one small thing I disagree with you on:
>>They continue to meet the sanctioning requirements on a regular basis, in spite of ongoing frustration, even when some of the Official Orders are not.
In actuality, we have almost consistently been below the (old) required member amount (25). For a while we hovered around 18, and we've only now just made it up to 23 active, 26 total. I'm honestly not sure how we fare against the other rules, as I held off on remembering them after it was announced that making Orders official was on hold.
Not that we don't deserve to be rewarded, however <big grin>.

Hmm. Okay. I probably should have stopped and counted that list of members on your site. I looked at it once and guesstimated in my post from memory. I guess I still feel it's a valid point if you consider the ratio of active to non-active members in comparison with other Orders.
I'd much rather have an Order with 18 consistently active members than an Order with 40 members, 8 of which are active. (Which references no particular Order, I pulled those numbers out of my....hat.)
Praise well deserved, either way. Good luck and keep at it, like always.

Thank you for the vote of confidence Athiana! I can't tell you how good it feels to have the support of those outside the Order in this regard. As for the membership thing...we're working on it ;-).

It's definately nice to see such praise, and although my character has had few interactions with the group...I have heard good things.
As it stands now though, the praise will stand merely at that. There are three groups to my knowledge that are to be made official once the moratorium lifts (It was supposed to have been done prior to the moratorium, but than it was switched to prior to 2004...I can only assume this still stands). One of which eludes me at this moment, but the other two are the Order of the Kindred and the Order of Hammer and Stone (I'm sure I butchered this group's name by accident, I appologize) whom I know has been waiting quite the long while indeed.
One can only hope, after these three groups are done however and the moratorium lifted, other worthy groups will seek sanctioning and hopefully recieve it.
All in all, keep up the good work -- and kudos!

I have to say that I really would love to see an exception made for the Kindred as well. I didn't mention them in the original post because of the reaction I got the last time I went anywhere near the group. I assumed that they intended on remaining unofficial due to the extremely secretive and guarded nature of the RP group. But, they certainly deserve heaps of praise for their amazing RP, and I know they've shown stability as a group by being around for a long time. I can't say much about the membership since it's pretty much unknown. <g>
As to the other two...obviously I can't respond to the group left nameless. No offense to the group you did name, Order of the Hammer and Stone?...I have never heard of it in game and don't see a folder listed for them. Obviously I'm not the Orders GM, so I don't know everything, but I do follow all the known Orders, both official and non-official, fairly closely. I would expect to have at least heard of an Order if it was one of three that was "next in line".
>As it stands now though, the praise will stand merely at that.
I hope that whoever is actually in charge of making that decision will reconsider based on the current status of all Unofficial Orders. It's a little like hiding at melee. At one point in time it seemed like a good idea for everyone to be able to do it. Things change - even when not "everybody" agrees with the change.

The Kindred of course, appreciates any praise and supports any non-Kindred that does show their gratitude toward the group. What we do, who we are, and all that may be kept a secret...which defeats the purpose of becoming an official order, but remember some of the -best- orders in real life are 'Secretive' but to an extent. See the Free-Masons, the Illuminati, the Tamasca...or any of your other "conspiracy" organizations.
I'm sure one of the representatives from said orders will chime in soon enough, and although not completely familliar with either I am aware of their existance. But yes, we need more orders in the realms...and more -diverse- ones. Hopefully the next batch will bring just that, a new edge to the official orders.

Meep! I was just visiting with Starsha and she suggested that the Order of the Hammer&Stone might be a branch of, or affiliated in some way with, Stone Clan Militia. If that is the case - ugh - I am so sorry! Of course I've heard of them! Ima put a muzzle on my typing fingers, tuck my tail between my legs and slink off with a sheepish batting of eyelashes now.
