There has been ALOT more roleplay into the Shadow Clan then just that passage. And while it isn't "GM word" given that some of that history has been overwritten by GMs themselves, I believe it to be congruent. Even if you don't choose to role play it, I know there are player made web pages just about dedicated to it. When I find my sources hidden away in my links, I will be sure to post them there. I have always said that there hasn't been enough done with the Shadow Clan. As I see it it could have been as big as the opening of the Islands, atleast in quanity of excitment.
