Before midnight on Restday, the 15th of Ivastaen, witnesses reported all manner of golems and constructs attacking the town's gates. While many heroes and defenders raced to the wilds to fight off the attack, it appeared the assault was only a distraction for something even more sinister.

A town clerk, who is now under protection, claims she was with many council members in Moot Hall late into the night debating issues of the orc camps outside of town. Per the clerk's account, a red portal appeared inside of the town council's chamber and many attackers rushed in, quickly ambushing the council members. The clerk was able to escape before anyone noticed her, but when she looked back she noted the council's corpses being engulfed in shadows.

Before the Moot Hall attacks could even be addressed, a wall of shadows appeared outside of the town barracks and blocked passage inside. Screams were heard from beyond the shadows as many heroes tried valiantly to dispel the wall. Eventually the wall was destroyed and the heroes rushed inside where they found the corpses of dozens of militia recruits and soldiers, and a number of outlaw assailants, some of them being the Ta'Mori who had been previously banished, while many others present were seemingly new allies.

Most of the outlaws were able to escape the barracks and the waves of golems outside of town subsided. The town officials announced that they would be completing an investigation over the next few days to get descriptions and names of every attacker who had ambushed the barracks.

While the Mayor or town marshal has not made any statements yet, it is rumored that the council members that were killed were loyal supporters of Mayor Walkar and helped him secure protection for the orcs outside of town.
