A number of militia and orc scouts had been recently reported missing, having never returned at their scheduled time to report on their patrols. Last evening, dozens of golden war griffins were spotted in the skies over Wehnimer's Landing, dropping blood-stained backpacks full of bones, a mix of remains from orcs, humans, dwarves and halflings. Upon one of the griffins, a huge armored rider was spotted, who later fired arrows into the skulls of Sir Cryheart and Sir Tebon, temporarily dropping the advisors of Mayor Walkar.
After the griffin's attack, information from the wandering Tehir war band was revealed to many present and detailed the likelihood that Drangell's troll army would arrive within four to six days. There was much speculation about which direction the trolls would be coming from, or if they'd even be using magical means as part of their dark alliance with summoners.
With war now imminent and no longer a possibility, Mayor Walkar made another statement just as the sun rose this morning.
"No longer is there a question whether the trolls are coming. Now is the time for us to finish our preparations for war. I have sent word to our allies in the Empire requesting both soldiers from the south and supplies by sea. The archers of the towers in the forest will soon be joined by some militia mages, adding their fiery bolts in our arsenal against the trolls.
In addition, many groups have rallied within our town to help in the battle. We thank the Order of the Silver Gryphons, the Drakes Vanguard, the Order of the Azure Sun and the Dreadnaught Alliance who have arrived from the east. There is now word that the DDR from Teras Isle will be offering their might as well. No matter what town or land you call home, Wehnimer's Landing needs you now. True heroics are not from merchants who hide behind their wealth, or politicians who cower in the shadows of halls.
The real champions are the fighters who take to the field, with steel or with stealth or with spells. The real champions are the healers who tend to the wounded or dead, or the clerics who risk death to give life. The real champions are the farmers, the blacksmiths, and hunters who fight and bleed for their home and their families. I make this Wehnimer's final call to arms. A call for heroes."
