Greetings, ladies and germs.

It's that time of year again! Picklerific festival time! The event will begin at 9 PM EST on Friday, 8/3.

As always, we will be having a recipe contest and a pickle poetry contest.

If you'd like to participate in the recipe contest, I'll need your entries no later than midnight on Friday/Saturday. Rules are as follows: less than ten ingredients (a list of which you will have to provide), a name for your dish, at least one ingredient must be pickled (pickles, pickled rabbits toes, pickled eggs, pickled pickles), and two taste messages for the dish. Email your recipes to me at my play.net address (gs4-xayle@play.net).

The recipe contest will be at 1 PM EST on Saturday, 8/4, and the pickle poetry contest will be at 2 PM EST on Sunday, 8/5. Nothing needs to be submitted for the poetry contest. Just show up at the appointed time! Keep it mostly (!) family friendly, if you please.

Also, if you have any golden pickles that haven't been redeemed and you'd like to redeem them, bring those with you. A lot of the previous year's requests weren't possible (there's only so much that can be crammed into the Commons!), but there will be other options for prizes this year as there was last year.

Also, please come prepared to redeem your contest wins before the end of the weekend as well as any from last year you may not have redeemed yet!
