There should now be plenty of room to stash more herbs in the crate.... I know folk like to hit their heads and fry their nerves a lot, but almost 40 each rose-marrow potion and wolifrew tintures is way more then enough so I got rid of a bunch so there's room to put other herbs in there.

Rose-marrow and lichen tend to build up in the crate to the point that other herbs can no longer be put in (acantha's an offender sometimes too).... no one's getting hit in the head so much that there needs to be 30+ of each in there. If I go to put an herb in there and there's no room, I will get rid of a bunch of those two in order to make room.
If someone's getting rid of all of it, though, that does need to stop. Luckily, rose-marrow's one of the herbs most commonly dropped by critters, so shouldn't take long to get a bunch back in there if that's been happening.

The crate clearly needs to be unlocked for all the bundling action!

RR is supposed to be a place that's more difficult to base a character in. Many of us have resisted the things that make this so from being added for the very reason that it encourages those that call the Rest home to look out for each other and take an interest in community. It also helps ensure that those that are there truly want to be there.
Really, in the 20+ years I've had characters in RR, there has NEVER been a time when one couldn't just grab rose-marrow from the crate (or bench before the crate was a thing). Just about everyone that finds them in a box tosses them in there and even when the population was much greater then it is now there was always more being added then removed. If anything, it's MORE convenient that rose-marrow isn't sold at the basket because it ensures you never have to pay for it.
If it's really that big of an inconvenience, be glad that the Landing is just a crystal amulet away once more. When the Cutter was the only way to/from town, we really did have to look out for each other and get to know one another.
Honestly though, the joy of RR is the interactions. Next time you're injured and there's folk in the commons, ask if anyone's a healer or can help... I know mine rests there between hunts all the time watching people move back and fourth between there and the basket munching herbs when she'd be happy to heal them (and maybe tease them) if they just asked.
