A messenger leaves a sealed scroll with the Vornavian guard.

Greetings Captain Gurbah,

I write to you this evening to inform you of events that transpired near the Swale several nights ago. While on patrol to keep the roads safe Sir Cryheart Thaxin, Magister Raelee Svala, Yukito of the Order of the Hospitaller, Kippe, and myself were set upon by several bandits.

While this was not an uncommon event, and in fact was the entire purpose for venturing out, what happened next was not. Several individuals in service to someone in the landing known only as the Knave joined the fray. I must admit that we were not successful in entirely repelling these attackers.

Upon discussion, there is some concern amongst those present regarding how far this Knave has ventured to make this attack. I am concerned for the general safety of those traveling the road between Vornavis and the Landing as they may send more forces south. I encourage increased diligence for any caravans heading north.

Sir Mires,

Earlier this week there was an attack upon several of us while keeping the roads clear near the Swale. This unprovoked attack was likely organized by an individual in the Landing, known only as the Knave. I have taken the liberty of notifying Captain Gurbah, and while I do not expect repeated attacks this incursion did take place on commonly traveled roads.

As ever, I'm certain you will remain vigilant.
