The logic that determines if a character contributed to a creature kill (often referred to as "tagging") has been updated such that any member of a group who has recently participated in a creature kill during the last 120 seconds will get credit for any creature killed by any group member even if they didn't actively participate on the current kill. The only restriction is that the character must be within 10 levels of the creature. As an example, if characterA and characterB are grouped and they both normally damage or disable creatureC, then within 2 minutes, if characterA instantly kills creatureD, characterB will still get partial credit toward creatureD even though they didn't damage/disable it. It is only partial credit, like when tagging a creature with a disabling spell.
This update should hopefully make grouping more easy and level the playing field for professions with limited Area of Effect attacks/spells. It should also help alleviate the pressure to tag every creature in a swarm, allowing more opportunity for others to participate, especially in areas like Reim.
