Hi, I was directed here after I assisted about a shield I just picked up.

The description is "a wolf-etched vultite tower shield." When I look at it, I see the following:

You see an engraving of a steady-eyed wolf standing silent watch from the jutting pinnacle of a sloping hill.

You also see a small enchanter's mark.

When I try Inspecting it, however, I get the message that "Inspecting that may not be a sound idea."

If anyone could help fix the script (I think that's what I'm trying to accomplish here) it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Have you tried ANALYZING it? There are some scripts out there that will block the INSPECT verb from providing an informative message and instead give you the one that you received.

Nothing seems too strange when I use the ANALYZE verb.

>analyze shield
You analyze your vultite tower shield and sense that there is no recorded information on that item. It may or may not be able to be worked on by a merchant alterer.

You might be able to have a talented merchant lighten the vultite tower shield for you.

you're correct that it's a script causing the bad inspect. That's the default inspect that gets added when the GM doesn't set the inspect properly. I believe it was said that it's never intended.

Does the item have a custom loresong? It might also have zests.
