Hey all,
Alchemy has had significant reductions in roundtime for most actions. Enjoy!

This is how happy I am about this - I haven't logged into the forums and posted something for probably a year, but I had to for this. (I can't remember how long ago I suggested this as a change) Thank you!

>I just want to say that I saw this information on TownCrier when I was doing alchemy, and 1 hour later I am still doing the alchemy I set out to do.
>I can't see any substantial change, sorry. Please reduce again or forget the idea the time was reduced in any significant way.
It might be beneficial if you actually posted specifics here.
Such as:
What tasks you were doing.
What the RTs were before the change and what they were after the change (if you know).
What exactly you had to do for the tasks.
I went through general and potions because back then pre-temper pots were necessary for enchanting I had troubles finding some at times. I know that sometimes you're tasked with using X herbs and you have to spend a lot of time foraging or hunting mundane creatures to obtain essences and/or skins. Or you had to gather sea water to make sea salt for tinctures.....lots of little tasks that add up to a lot of time.
So, be specific about your experience so they can look into things. Just posting a broad, sweeping, general claim that you're not seeing any reduction in time isn't helpful.

Awesome change, hoping this is the first of what is soon to be major improvements to alchemy!
Some ideas and suggestions:
1) more pre-temper potions for reducing item difficulty (like elemental flare potions but encompasing more kinds of flares, or even other services like ensorcells)
2) alchemy herbs being superior to store herbs in some way (i.e. can hold up to 50 drinks or no RT or improved efficacy somehow)
3) more RT reduction based on skill - master alchemist should be able to make the simplest potions with minimal RT
4) better item stackability to reduce the onerous item management (somehow?)
5) alchemy made potions/items being...somehow better than the many common available imbeds (which themselves are hardly even used). not sure how but its kinda silly the amount of time needed to make really mundane simple items
6) mini-cauldrons that can be worn or aren't heavy and don't require dragging one around
7) an expansion of the animated cauldron abilities to prevent you from making a mistake once you master
Thanks for listening!
#1 imo has the most potential to really turn alchemy around in terms of demand.

Just to add, one of the problems I've noticed with alchemy is that the task repetitions are multiple orders of magnitude worse than the rogue/warrior guild tasks.
For example:
warrior sweep task - I can accomplish in about 2-4 minutes with hardly a sweat
wizard sweep task - even with capped 535 hasting me, I timed nearly 20+ minutes to continuous sweeping before it finished all the reps. It was just a ridiculously long amount of sweeping in comparison.
I have no idea why there's such a disparity in time/difficulty between those tasks but its also absolutely one of the reasons alchemy tasks are horrible.

The RT reductions were specifically to the alchemy commands - boil and simmer are now 6 seconds RT, extract (and I assume distill also) is a total of 12 seconds RT (vs. 40 seconds), infuse is 3 seconds RT (but it still infuses over time, so the infuse doesn't finish until 15 seconds have passed, I think), channel and chant are shortened as well. Sealing a potion is shorter too.
Grinding is still 5 seconds per grind, so that hasn't changed.
