I would like to suggest the development of a system that can deconstruct enchanted, padded, ensorcelled, etc. weapons and armor to regain grit/essence/energy/etc.
It seems to me that with the profusion of higher end gear and the availability to self-improve your own equipment, as well as what DR allows you to purchase, that marketing such items for resale within the Elanthian marketplace is much more difficult than it used to be because of the floodgates being opened.
As such, it would be nice if there was a system in place for players to deconstruct gear into it's base elementals in order to recoup grit/energy/essence/suffusion points, obviously at reduced value, as an option. I don't see a problem with restricting it to gear over certain enchantments(I.e. needing so much magical energy as a minimum to be able to strip it a layer off of it, so much padding to find any useable amount) but considering that players at this point are skilled enough to create them, ripping them apart to get useable material should be possible.
Just a thought.

Love this idea. Might be a bit tricky with the abundance of enchanted stuff and anything that's naturally weighted (ie claids), so people wouldn't be collecting cheap gear to strip down for essence. Then again, with appropriate conversion factors (eg 4x gives almost no essence, 5x only a little, 6x much more, etc), maybe it's fine (other than claid's, would just have to make them not able to be stripped below their natural weighting).
Would possibly be a nice addition to make alchemy more useful. Though, need to fit in non-pure services too.

You are able to remove an ensorcellment already, even a permanent one, with a glimmering sanguine potion. You do lose everything put into it though...
