You swing a coraesine longsword at a massive black boar!
AS: +425 vs DS: +212 with AvD: +37 + d100 roll: +15 = +265
... and hit for 40 points of damage!
Flattened the black boar's right hand.
* A massive vortex of shrapnel-laden air coalesces around a massive black boar! *
... 10 points of damage!
Attack hits the black boar's throat but doesn't break the skin.
Close!
The vortex carries a massive black boar off to the east!
Roundtime: 5 sec.
Roundtime changed to 3 seconds.

I love my coraesine weapon, but hate when the above flare occurs. It's really annoying to have to chase after my foe and I've had that flare occur twice in a row before.

I'd much prefer if the flare rate were greatly reduced and had the chance to blow the foe away permanently; similar to how the Empathy(1108) spell functions where a high end roll will cause a foe to run off permanently (which counts as a kill for the purposes of experience or bounty).

As I gaze over the horizon, the wind tugs at my cloak and whispers, "Adventure" in my ear.

Whick's body sways back and forth for a bit.
* Whick drops dead at your feet!

"The vortex carries a massive black boar off to the east!" -- coraesine flare

Man, I would hate to be the witch that all those durn cyclones keep dropping piggies on.... <shake head>

.

Sounds like Clerics lost the old Repel mechanics, and Sorcerers & Empaths got it. Evil Eye and Empathy both sound like near-copies (looks like a higher result is needed): beat the warding threshold by enough, it runs away (and dies).
