I have an ambushing rogue who uses UAC. Currently uses 6X hand and foot wraps. She is also a Voln Master, and so can hit undead without a bless.

I am interested in getting crit weighting on the handwraps, but I have some questions.

1) How much crit weighting would 10 services come out to? I know it's not a huge amount, and I'll probably go multiple times whenever the wagon is here, but I'd like to knw how much bank I am getting for my buck.

2) Will crit weighting affect her ability to hit undead? Can said gear still be blessed?

BTW, I have also been told that using enchanted UAC gear against undead without a bless on it drops the effective enchant to 2X, much like a Bard's sonic weapon. Is that true?

"So, what does that green line on the graph represent?"
"Oh, that's the projection of a hypothetical offspring from a union between Sauron and Cruella de Ville;
we use that as a baseline for determining character alignment."

1 point of Crit weighting (assuming no existing weighting).

First 50 services will net you 5 points (10 services per point)
Next 100 Services (total 150 services) will get you to 10 points (20 services per point for points 6-10)
Next 150 Services (total 300 services) will get you to 15 points (30 services per point for point 11-15)

And so on.

There is a handy table here that lays this out: https://gswiki.play.net/WPS_smithy

The most he can do per visit is 25 services if I recall correctly, and the price increases dramatically with each set of 5 services. I've been working on my warsword for a LONG time now, and am at 145, and I pretty much only do it with blood scrip.

As an example of cost, I just got a quote for my warsword (+20, pefect forged, T3 ensorcell, anfelt (tier 3) [gizwizit], Lightened x2 (max), 145 services (9 pts) Crit Weighting, Disintegration Flares).

Item: a perfect maoral-hilted vultite warsword
Modified Weighting Type: Critical
Current Service Window Count: 0
Estimated Costs:
Next Service: 114125 silvers
Next 5 Services: 570625 silvers
Next 10 Services: 1283900 silvers
Next 15 Services: 2995775 silvers
Next 20 Services: 4992960 silvers
Next 25 Services: 11269835 silvers

Great point! I have a number of projects but only get 10 services per 'service window' to help keep the costs down.

1)

https://gswiki.play.net/WPS_smithy -- This has the services breakdown, and how to determine your gear point for the costs to add weighting.

https://gswiki.play.net/Weighting -- This has a table that shows you the relationship between CER level and in game description (IE: 10 is heavily).

https://www.jahadeem.com/gsiv/calc.php?type=wps -- A calculator to determine cost. The minimum gear point value for this WPS is 32.5 (so put in 33 to be safe). If your UCS gear is only 6x gear with nothing else on it (existing weighting of the type you're adding is ignored) then its gear point value is 30. Since the minimum is 33 that's what you would put in to determine prices. As has been mentioned, and as you'll see in the calculator, it can increase in price very quickly. The "window" resets every 2 months. So March/April is one window. May 1st the services performed on your gear will reset and the cost will drop as a result.

2) From the wiki (so take it with a grain of wiki salt)...

"Kai's Strike is not conferred on equipment or weapons used in conjunction with unarmed combat. The properties/special effects of any worn or held item will not activate without a conventional bless (Symbol of Blessing, Bless (304), Pure potion etc). However, wearing/holding an unblessed item will never nullify the ability to attack undead with Jab, Punch, Grapple or Kick attacks."

If this is correct then it means that your UCS gear is ignored completely unless blessed.

I haven't gone out and tested anything about it, but it's easy enough to see what happens whether it's 0x, or 2x, or something else. Punch/kick without a bless and see the results, then bless that piece of gear and see what the new result is.

I can tell you with regards to blessing weighted gear...

The best way to think of the penalty is that each service subtracts a bless. This is actually wrong, but it's close enough to be the best way to think about it without worrying about the math.

CER 5 is 50 services. You lose 50 blesses.

CER 10 (0/30) I've been told loses you 151 blesses.

CER 10 (11/30) is 160 services and you lose 165 blesses.

A level 100 Voln Master gets 152 blesses so you would get 1 use on CER 10 (0/30) gear and can't bless anything higher (even with Consecrate).

However, a cleric bless will still give you a ton of use on even high weighted gear.

OK, the thing with the blesses is just confusing to me. I suspect I would be better off just getting a second set of UAC gear without any weighting and use that when fighting undead foes.

Conventional wisdom is 5 CER (SWCW) if want to integrate.

But yes, 2 sets would maximize blesses if you don't want a one stop set.
