We just assessed how many we will be looking at on the 7th and we've been going through accounts as of the 14th. This is the longest process because we sometimes have to wait on information. After we go through accounts, interviews are scheduled. So we're getting closer to interviews now.

An update on this. After talking it over with the training team, we decided to split the hiring round up between two groups. We also made some updates to staffing that were effective November 1st that will change how we work on projects. As of right now, we are bringing on 9 new GameMasters for time sensitive roles that have entered training. We will be doing a second round of hiring after we see how things go with the changes we've made. We don't have a timeline on when the second hire will happen and we'll be sure to announce it when more information is available.

<I wish GMs would pose as the various town npcs and then if they saw a group of players role playing or w/e, they could start a conversation with the players or give them like a mini quest. I think that would be cool>
GMs do pop into the game like this from time to time... or at least they used to (been a while since I saw or heard of it happening). I've never heard of them giving quests like you're talking about (unless they were an NPC tied to a bigger storyline in progress), but they have started RP with folk. Sometimes they pose as a regular adventurer, other times it's far more obvious it's a GM (a kobold once wandered into the RR commons and started chatting with players resting there). Players that engage with these characters often receive an RPA, small token related to the interaction, or (rarely) an alteration.
Also, you never know when a GM is watching what's going on and will insert something relevant to the RP (so make liberal use of MYCHAR even when you're not at an event). My signature below happened when my hand was cut off while hunting and I was loudly complaining about it when I returned to the commons.

A severed gnomish hand crawls in on its fingertips and makes a rude gesture before quickly decaying and rotting into dust. A gust of wind quickly scatters the dust.
