Our GemStone IV Test server is up and running. We will be leaving it open until June 6th 2016. You are welcome to head on over there, test builds, test new skills, and run around and enjoy GemStone IV in an OOC format. Prime characters should be synced as of this month. The actual game world should be synced up as of maybe a few months ago. So some things might not be available there that are in the live instance.
You will have instant skill migration and HEALME to use over there, so there will be no waiting around to try out a plethora of character builds. Run out there, try something new, die, rinse, repeat. Remember to have fun and take advantage of all the new changes that came out since last year (or even further back if you're returning to us after a break or haven't changed much).
Platinum and Shattered players, if you wish to join in over in the Test server, we'll need to manually set you up to match your Platinum character. We will need to set up a time and date to do this.

If we copy our platinum character to the test server we can still log onto the platinum server to play when we're done right? If so, I'd like to have my character on the test server in order to try out a few different paladin weapon use builds.

I'm sure a TEST would tell me, but hopefully the Confluence TDs match the ones that are lower now than a couple months ago? This would be pretty relevant I think to have.

Test server is a completely separate instance, like Prime is to Platinum. But we'd have to have you log in and we'd need to set you up manually. I'll let you know when we'll plan for this.

Confluence TDs are the present (lower) ones. Woooo.
And I just made the gimpiest build...strike that...on my way to one of the gimpiest builds I've had in years. Wow! This is amaaaaaaaaazing!

I've often thought it would be a great idea to allow a test server or a way for fixskills to instantly migrate for a 24 hour period so players who accidentally make a mistake or wind up hating their build don't quit in frustration due to a major mess up and could tweak their builds. Good show all around!

I recently resubscribed (on the 14th) and I do not have any characters available in the test server instance. My account is in prime. I am assuming that this manual setup will apply to this circumstance as well?

Sadly, it won't. Characters created in April will likely not be able to get in on this round. But I'll see what can be done.

Shielded by a thick evergreen hedge, this broad expanse of lush green lawn provides a welcome respite from the chaotic world just beyond the arch. Not many steps away, a large and elegantly drooping willow provides a shady resting place. Further in and across the way, an open gazebo shelters a rope hammock, several comfortable looking pillows, and a wobbly tea cart. A pebbled path meanders over to the far corner, leading to a large glass-domed sandstone building. You also see a lithe black abyran'ra, a lithe black abyran'ra, a lithe black abyran'ra, a lithe black abyran'ra, a lithe black abyran'ra, a lithe black abyran'ra and a lithe black abyran'ra.

Heh. The nebulous sphere will not let me into The Rift at Level 46, but I can walk around the Scatter without getting killed too much...

As of right now, if your character was created or you just opened your account back up in April (or after), you will not have a character on the GemStone IV Test server. There is no character creation for Test, so if you don't have any characters there, there is nothing we can do right now.
Should we do another sync before this testing phase is over, we'll announce it. We want to be able to use the Test server a bit more to help alleviate concerns with sweeping game changes. So we'll be using this more often. Bigger systems that require heavy test loads will also be showcased on the Test should we have anything come up. Typically, we bring things to Platinum first, as the "beta" testing is a subscription perk.

This is a good move.

As long as it's brought to Prime before it's rolled in live. You know the scale of the player base is much larger on the Prime side, so this rational doesn't really make sense any more. Also, I'll continue to point out that Platinum only pays $10 more than a Premium subscriber, and there are plenty of us multi-Premium users over here in Prime who don't want to have our characters be guinea pigs using live fixskills.

I've been having fun scratching some persistent itches. Loving it. I've finally confirmed that the grass isn't actually greener on the other side for Brem and that she's been on a nice green sections of it for quite a while.

Is it possible to add some sort of invincible mode that players can toggle off and on? HEALME is nice and all but if someone just wanted to test their offensive spells/attacks it would be nice if they didn't have to worry about getting stunned or killed in the first place than having to do HEALME over and over again because they are now spell less or whatnot.
If a complete invincible mode is too difficult to add perhaps a toggle that adds +1000 DS and TD, that would help a lot at least.
Also can HEALME remove sheer fear as well?
