Not sure if anyone has experienced this before, but upon completing a task for mastiff hearts in the Landing, my "reward" was as follows:

"You have earned -116 bounty points, 700 experience points, and -171 silver"

I don't know if it actually took bounty points from me as I don't track those that closely. I had a negative silver amount on me that I had to withdraw from the bank to remove. I did report it as a bug in-game, but was wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this?

This must have to do with the bundle update.

There was a change in bundle handling made around then. My guess is that you got caught selling some before it and claiming after it. Unless there's some failsafe in the AG code to prevent negative bounty rewards (and since there wasn't for silvers, I doubt there is for bounty points) you would have lost those bounty points in addition to not getting the reward you should have.

When did the changes to BUNDLE become effective? I was given the Adventurers Guild task on Saturday 9/5 or Sunday 9/6. It was for I believe 6 mastiff hearts, and I don't remember the quality. I didn't do anything related to the task until Monday morning, 9/7. When I do skinning bounties I usually get a few more skins than I need in case the quality isn't good enough on a skin or two. I think I wound up with 9 hearts, that I definitely bundled, and sold them all as one transaction to the furrier.

After the initial announced change bundles were counting as one fur (but with the value of the whole bundle). Several days ago it was corrected, and it must have been before you sold your bundle or you'd have noticed it only counting as one. I think its probably a blip to do with the timing of that correction, but I'd still keep a careful eye on what happens next time you get a fur bounty. You should be getting bounty points that are the same as the base selling price (ignoring race trading etc.) of the average fur you sold.

why do you keep insisting that things are not broken when two of us had issues over the weekend?

Because the last two times I did the bounty it worked and previous to that it was broken.

My bundles were normal ones. Maybe the fix broke bundles made by fancy items?

and now its not working for me either. The nature of the bug is different, but there is one there.

This is the history of the bug as I observed it.

1) Following the change to bundle, AG rewards were treated a bundle as a single fur. If you took 10 furs worth 400 each, bundled them and sold them the AG treated that as 1 fur worth 4000 and, provided you weren't limited by fur collection, you got 10 times the amount of bounty points you should as a consequence.

There was a "fix".

2) A bundle of 10 started to count as 10 furs, but the bounty rewards are now too low, and in some cases negative. I only have one good data point so I don't have a good idea of how the miscalculation is happening.

The closest I can get is that it looks like a bundle of 10 furs worth 400 each is now being treated as a bundle of 10 furs worth 400 total with bounty points potentially being divided by 10, but it doesn't quite fit my data point and it couldn't generate a negative result so the bug has to have a bit more to it than that. Maybe there's some sort of fudge to try to deal with a bundle thats got a mixture of quality in it thats making the result even worse than I see with all magnificents.

(I sold 8 magnificents for 891 each in bundles of 5,2 and 1 and got 321 bounty points. With my 10% from trading I think that should have been 810)

If I get the chance at the bounty again any time soon, I'll throw a couple of deliberately mangled crudes into the mix to see what happens but it does seem fairly clear to me that bundling is causing loss of bounty points now and anyone that doesn't want to lose out on bounty rewards needs to be selling singly.

Wow, what a terrible bug.

If a thief tries to steal from someone with negative silvers, does the mark get coins from the thief?

:P
