I've been in the ASSIST queue for almost 6 hours so I'm trying this now...
Nutshell: Virilneus' site and several people who posted on it (and mastered alchemy) say that THIS recipe is correct:
A pale sea-green potion (105):
Add water
Add 2 doses of tree viper fang
Boil
Add 2 doses of ground sweetfern stalk
Simmer
Add powdered green tourmaline
Chant Poison Resistance
(then SEAL it)
I did this and it failed (failed recipe ie nothing produced):
"So far, you've added water and 2 doses of tree viper fang, boiled it, added 2 doses of ground sweetfern stalk, simmered it, added powdered green tourmaline, and chanted Poison Resistance."
(then SEALed it)

You haven't responded to GM attempts to contact you.
I was able to use that formula and successfully create a potion.
The iron cauldron is currently lit. So far, you've added water and 2 doses of tree viper fang, boiled it, added 2 doses of ground sweetfern stalk, simmered it, added powdered green tourmaline, and chanted Poison Resistance.
You reach into the cauldron and fill your flask.
Are you sure that you ground down all of your ingredients entirely? Was the green tourmaline guild purchased or treasure-found? Was it found recently, or did you find it in storage somewhere? Which tree vipers did you skin?

oh sorry....I came back to check the computer repeatedly but saw I was still in the queue so assumed no one had come by.
I got the skins from tree vipers in vipershroud, bought the tourmaline from the sorcerer guild shop, and got the sweetfern by foraging.
checked my logs...ground the ingredients down entirely.
I've failed this several times.

There are tomes that you can buy in every guild's alchemy shop. They don't write down formulas automatically, though. Every time you learn a new formula from the masters or complete a formula, you just whip out your tome and WRITE TOME or whatever the noun is for your book. If you learn two new formulas from the masters, you can record both. If you've recently completed a formula that's already in your book and then learn a new one from the masters, you might get the messaging that the tome already contains the formula you just made. Just WRITE TOME again and the new one will be recorded.

eh ok, but what I'm hearing is no easier than copying and pasting into an external file. thanks for your answer, and yes I sound lazy, but i'd rather copy and paste than carrying yet another thing around on my sorcerer. we have enough components already.
I wouldn't mind carrying something around if it updated automatically. but if not, I'd rather screw up a recipe every 30 ranks instead (and yes even if I have to post about it like I did earlier). as a sorcerer, IMO we have enough micromanaging to do already.
