I'm kinda sad it isn't fire criticals. Also, the rate of the Aura lashing out seems to be incredibly low. I've only seen one critical from it in the 4 minutes it was active. I realize it's not intended as a primary form of damage, but one strike in four minutes is underwhelming.


For anyone keeping track of messaging, here are the "on/off" messages:

The licks of blue flame surrounding you flare up one last time before vanishing with a staticky crackle.

And again, Estild, if that was a straight copy/paste of the existing code... 50% chance is too low.
The number of times it (used to flare) was too low.
The number of times--when it did get around to flaring--that it struck an already-dead critter was too high a percentage of the low number of flares.

Just confirming that "dead stuff" has been removed from the possible targets would be a good first step.

Cranking it up to even as little as 55% (which isn't all that big a change, but it still means that you're 10% more likely to get a flare than not) would be an excellent second step.

(And I still like the "targeted cast and release all the flares at once on the critter" idea.)

The spell will not lash out at dead targets.
