My sonic weapon no longer flares (am 1x/level trained in air lore). While it isn't a primary usage weapon, I do use it for undead bounties.
I haven't seen a flare in weeks now.
Has anyone else experienced this?

A free +10 permablessed weapon was my understanding of the horrible limits on this singularly signature item versus undead. Even if you belong to Voln. :(
So count me in with Furrowfoot.

I agree that it is permablessed and +10, and even cannot be disarmed (which is a significant bonus, against certain creatures/professions).
However, given that the real power of the weapon lies in its flares--and that I'm using it as a runestaff, not a melee weapon, so the flares are the only thing that it's really go going for it, for me--and it loses an awful lot in that equation.

Agreed that in areas with ONLY undead, +10 is a bit underwhelming even with the no disarming bonus.
However, don't overlook the advantage of a sonic weapon in the mixed undead/living hunting areas. Sure you only have +10 against the undead, but the flares still come out on the living.
That is a substantial bonus. Those that have to use a 4x non-flaring blessable to hit the undead in the mixed areas dont magically have flares when they make an attack on the livings, and cannot reasonably switch between weapons as the enemies come (certainly cannot switch in the middle of a room mstrike ffor instance)
