Valyrka, thank you so much for all of your hard work in organizing the symposium. It was a great success and one of the best roleplaying events I have attended since coming back to Gemstone. This one week has added a huge amount of Faendryl lore and it has definitely rekindled the interest and excitement of the players. I am moving to a different state this week (tomorrow, in fact) and I wouldn't have even thought about playing Gemstone if you hadn't put together such an awesome event. Those unpacked boxes in the bedroom -- your fault.

I can't wait to see what you do next!

I missed far more of this event than I originally planned to, and what a loss. +1 to everything Silvean said. Thank you to the GMs and participants.

Indeed. Long before I wrote any official documents, I was writing unofficial cultural notes. Even during my official stint, I stressed that what's "real" is what players actually play, regardless of official support. The best documentation expands on player options, as opposed to imposing restrictions from the top down.

I've been remiss in not posting this sooner: This was a great event, and I thank you, Valyrka, along with every player and GM who participated in it. From big news such as the release of the official lore document to little details like wines that taste delicious to Faendryl and like spoiled pears to non-Faendryl (thank you for taste-testing, Riend), everything was a delight. I feel as though there's so much more acreage now for players to grow some of their own distinctively Faendryl RP as we have a better sense of a shared culture that's deeper than "We're atheists who wear a lot of black, and oh yeah, most of us are into magic." (Come to think of it, that could describe about 90 percent of Hot Topic customers, so it's good that we're branching out with our roleplay.) I don't know whether I liked the GM-run presentations or the player-run ones better, and I mean that as a compliment -- everyone was in peak form. It was great to see what each person brought to the event and how he or she integrated it into a common cultural whole.

Thank you so much for the efforts that went into this event from you, other GMs, and players. It was absolutely wonderful! I'm especially glad Allereli and Sparegris have been so great about logging and posting stuff to the wiki.

P.S. -- If Silvean's player is going to blame those unpacked boxes on you, may I also hold you responsible for my iffy housework all this week?
