So I was wondering/hoping a GM could look at and think about some of the UAC exclusive spells in Minor Mental.

Starting out I know I'm doing something different. Instead of using UAC at all I'm going TWC for my monk. For now at low level I'm using dual flaring daggers and the point is to just hit fast and flare for death. I'm not using haste or anything. So far though it seems pretty good.

TWC:
All: 2/2

OHE:
All: 2/1

MOC:
Monk: 5/2
Warrior: 4/3
Rogue: 10/3

PF:
Monk: 2/0
Warrior: 2/0
Rogue: 3/0

Dodging:
Monk: 1/1
Warrior: 4/2
Rogue: 2/1

CMan:
Monk: 5/3
Warrior: 4/3
Rogue: 4/4

Total: (To 1x in all)
Monk: 15/9
Warrior: 18/11
Rogue: 23/11

Now of course the failing comes in when we start to look at Cmans themselves. The monk obviously doesn't get berserk, bonding, and a few other things that make a warrior TWC worth it, but they don't slouch necessarily either. Burst and Perfect Self are neat additions but don't make up for the other options. However, things like qstrike and other cmans become increasingly viable once you reduce your stamina costs so... trade offs. No need to train in armor either... (Of course offset by needing to train lore, mana, and spells.) All in all advantage definitely to warriors in the overall mechanics. 3/2 in the core skills needed is not enough of an advantage to offset the other costs of being a TWC monk... but those costs are generally there for UAC monks too so meh... I'm playing a monk.

My issue instead is with two spells. Brace and Dragonclaw. They are spells that only work for UAC purposes. I don't know what the plans for Savants are but I can't imagine they are supposed to be another UAC class. (With the general consensus being that Rogues are great at UAC, then warriors, and Monks.) If savants are meant to be a UAC class, it sort of undermines Monks position as UAC masters even further... so I would assume they really aren't. But then... this means they too would have 2 completely pointless spells to them. So maybe have a point if a weapon is being held.

Brace: Maybe something as simple and stupid as an increase AvG/Damage Padding/Crit Padding in the arm section. I've seen padded arm greaves out there. Doesn't seem like it would break the game either... but it might keep my arms from breaking. ;)

Dragonclaw: Bonus to resist disarm? (Scaly hands hard to hit to make me release my weapon, or strengthened grip to hold on. Hell scales might even have better traction on the weapon.)

I know this is a weird standpoint. A) Because I'm doing a non-standard monk. and B) Because it is only two spells.

I still wanted to get it out there as I intend to train in these spells and kind of disappointed I will get 0 mileage out of either.

When I tested out 2 weapon combat as a monk in otf, I think I only trained to 1208 for minor mental. and maybe 103 or 107 in minor spirit. It's just one of those trade offs.

Yeah, and I thought about that. Was wondering about how well 1207 works at that point... also I kind of wanted to do more with my spell list if I'm going to go that way. I am beginning to think the handful of defensive spells by training more aren't worth training higher in the spell list for.

Of course another hope was to get to the stamina reduction spell... so I still need to train up some.
