Can you revert provoke to the way it was when first released? In the plat instance? The way the spell works now, I cant see any difference between normal and provoked. I was so sad I untrained it. Please bring it back so I can have monkish swarmy fun again.

Better still get rid of it altogether. Its terrible for other players when there's a group running it. A lone monk or a monk with a partner isn't a problem, but its when the big group that runs is about the only to do is log off.

We dont get a lot of large groups in plat. It's probably been over a year since i've in plat with more than 1 other person grouped with me.

Its OK when there's just the couple, but there's a group of 10 that runs it where I hunt and its awful.

I imagine, that with the spell the way it is now, you're probably seeing a greater increase from the amount of characters hunting in the area, than you are from any or all of them using Provoke to try and increase the gen rate.

A group of 10 people moving through and hunting an area would do that.

Regardless, I dont want to change it's effects in the prime instance where you have the population as high as you do. But in the plat instance there isnt a worry about it. There are also only a handful of monks that could or would cast it. Currently, as the spell is now, I dont think a single monk in plat is trained to use it. Even at cap.

The increase in critter population when Provoke is cast by that group is insane. It generates area wide messaging when its cast and suddenly theres three critters in every room. Its a huge difference between when they are there and not running it, and when they put it up. There's a lot when they are there but they also kill them fast so it doesn't get out of hand, but Provoke fills it faster than they can kill them.

At some point I'll have to invest the training points into it again. Regardless, I'm not wanting to effect your instance either way. Just the Plat instance, where I believe no one even currently has the spell trained due to it's current effect, or rather, lack of one.

It probably should have a fixed effect rather than a multiplicative one. Then you'd see a difference using it solo and it wouldn't overwhelm everyone else in the area when used by an MA group. e.g. make the caster count like 3 characters for spawn purposes rather than making everyone in the area count double.
