Change in minor mental TD? on 02/22/2016 12:55 AM CST
I've noticed a recent SIGNIFICANT jump in certain creature TD. The timing as far as I can tell (i haven't played much this week) coincides with the updates Coase did for the confluence which included a bugfix of some kind for TD.
The update occurred on the 17th. Previous to that date one creature (aivrens), which has little to no variance in TD (as they have no spells) before that date:
TD: 258-270
since that date:
TD: 329-332
Your spell lists:
Minor Spiritual...20
Minor Mental......36
Logic (LOG): 97 (23) ... 136 (43)
so if...under hunting by 2 levels, with more than double the suggested monk spell training, and a 43 logic bonus...I have a ~40% chance to ward a completely un-magical creature...basically that means vertigo,thought lash, confusion,etc. became useless.
Bandit TD appears consistent so...either I'm missing something causing a ~60 fluctuation in TD for a few things, or some creatures just became effectively immune to the only mass disabling ability monks have

It would be interesting to know if paladin TD (which used to be the same as MnM TD on these sort of critters) has also been upgraded by 70 ish.
These are the sorts of TDs that would be appropriate for MnM if it was the minor circle for a pure, but make no sense at all if semis or squares are expected to be able to make use of MnM CS spells.
>TD: 258-270
>TD: 329-332
Aivren (and pretty much all square critters) MnM TD used to be 3*level so the actual range on aivren would have been 243-273, with 258 being the baseline. Baseline critters are the most common, so its probably had 71 or 74 added to its TD which completely breaks CS use for monks.

Going to touch on this again, since I didn't see an answer. I'm rather curious, as it's completely made our disabler useless against like-level critters.
Before:
The starry void envelops a war griffin!
CS: +353 - TD: +300 + CvA: +25 + d100: +28 == +106
Warding failed!
A war griffin is pulled into the void and disappears! It returns almost instantly, looking confused.
Now:
The starry void envelops a war griffin!
CS: +353 - TD: +412 + CvA: +25 + d100: +21 == -13
Warded off!
The war griffin resists the pull of the starry void
So before, I had rougly an 80% chance to affect most like-leveled critters. Now, it's 0%. While not exactly 0% on all critters, the over all Mental TD of critters has changed in both OTF and Nelemar, making many of them with an extremely low or zero percent chance to affect the target. Is this intended?

I even retrained and added 10 minor mental ranks to try and improve my odds. Now I have around 45% instead of 30 something.
At cap, with 35 ranks in the mental sphere, I basically have stopped using spells while hunting. Except for force projection. Vertigo is now useless as a crowd control spell. On a side note for Vertigo, it knocks things over when it does work, but it doesnt seem to knock anything out of the air. At least not in the Keen where I've been helping a friend hunt. I suppose I can go test it some more. But unless I'm just helping friends to hunt, the CS against like level targets is pretty useless.
I didnt get a capture of a siren, but I'm fairly certain I've gone from almost always hitting them, to not being able to hit them at all. I want to say their TD went into the 400 range.
A translucent orb of force coalesces out of the air next to a triton executioner.
CS: +380 - TD: +356 + CvA: +20 + d100: +13 == +57
Warded off!
The orb dissipates harmlessly into the air.
You gesture at a triton combatant.

CS: +380 - TD: +355 + CvA: +20 + d100: +40 == +85
Warded off!

You gesture at a triton radical.

Nelemar has seen an increase in TD's, or they have stayed the same, since you last checked on them then. Radical TD has gone up 10 points. Sirens seem to have gone down from the 409 to 390's, still putting it out of reach for usefulness. Combatants seem to have gone down a few points. Executioners look to be the same. All in all though, I'm pretty much skipping using any offensive spells. I imagine as I continue to gain tp's post cap I'll eventually have to be completely singled in spells. 40 ranks in the 100's and 61 ranks in minor mental. Seems counter productive to a class touted as square. But, it also seems to be the trend.

So...since the fix, TD went up by a ton in the Confluence. Is this intended? I think I could hit them with Vertigo about 50% of the time, now it's impossible.
Again, five levels below me. The ice elemental had 410+.
