I am carrying a zested staff that has mana flares and both ambient and verb trapped zests for 1st and 3rd person.
You analyze your staff and sense that the item is largely free from merchant alteration restrictions.
The creator has also provided the following information:
This item contains mood messaging depending on flare type, and only has *a chance* to fire off ambient messaging every so often. It will also work for things like bless, elemental edge, and guiding light flares. This item is currently active and will do ambient messaging. You may PROD to make it go dormant.
This item isn't unlocked for custom settings.
You might be able to have a talented merchant lighten the staff for you.

Are ensorcell flares compatible for active and ambient zests on this kind of equipment?
Without looking at your staff, I'd probably lean towards no. The analyze leads me to believe that is the work of Wyrom, but again, without seeing it, I cannot confirm. Since Ensorcell is so new, the flare messaging is based on what type of flare, which is why I'd lean towards no.
This is more of an item type question, than a dev sorcerer question.

I went and took a look and no, ensorcell flares are not compatible.
GM Wyrom would be the one to ask regarding the adding, or not adding, of ensorcell to the compatibility list.
